Any experience with this product from DP?

Has anyone used this before: http://detailersparadise.com/View.as...20061202175731 ?

Does it actually work fairly well? Is it worth the money?

i was looking at it as well... the only thing that has me stopped is
it is unclear where the fluid comes out inside the foam. if it disperses
evenly near the edges of the foam that would be something worth me
to get, otherwise if it just comes out from the center (which i think it
does), it would be easier to use a cheepo applicator (the foam
ones with the yellow handle available at most parts stores) and just
spray content near the edges of the applicator before i apply.

if you have 55 or higher profile tires, fine, but mine are between 35-50...
which means it's going to get all over the rim and i will have to do 1/2
arch, then roll the car forward/aft, and do the other 1/2. which is a
pita. kinda like griot's sauce applicator.

BUMP!

Anyone else?

I also have low profile tires on the MINI (235) and I wonder how well this would work...

Sorry haven't tried. I still like using the good ole Meguiars foam applicator pad and Endurance High Gloss or Hyperdressing for matte finishes on my tires. If I'm really lazy, using Insane Shine is easy and mess free.

I've used it... surprise, surprise! You probably don't want my biased opinion, but I'll toss it out there anyway.

First, to answer Kenchan's question about where the dressing comes out, it does come out of the center but it is from a sort of indented area in the foam. So, it disperses into the entire hunk of foam pretty easily and quickly. I post photos in a minute.

Pros
  • Convenient
  • Less messy than a spray
  • Better size than some of the large applicator, which IMO are too large for some tires
  • Less waste (you can just toss it into a baggie when you're done for storage and keep using what is left in the foam pad, as well as in the reservoir.)
Cons
  • The reservoir could be larger. Although it's size is perfect to hold and use (the reservoir is in the handle), it only holds a couple of applications worth of dressing (depending on how much you like to use, this can vary)
  • Foam size: Although I noted above that I like the size better than the giant applicators, sometimes I wish it was just a tad wider. For some reason there doesn't seem to be anything in that nice in-between size on the market!
I really like using it and it's what I use these days- over the other gadgets we have (including many we don't sell... we have dozens of test gadgets too!). Also, we have had excellent customer feedback on it.

Again, I know I'm biased but I do like the way it works. Hopefully others who have used it will chime in also.

Here are some additional photos of the Oxo Tire Dressing Applicator:

From directly under the foam.

Side view of foam-reservoir-handle

With refill lid off, looking into the reservoir from the top

With foam off (on the right) and looking into the reservoir from the bottom (where it attaches to the foam)

When you press on the button on the top of the handle, the dressing is dispersed through the little hole. You do this when you have the app against the tire. Then, the dressing oozes into the foam, allowing you to spread it all over the tire.

I don't know if these help or not, but hopefully they do!

Thanks! I think I will probably pick one up just to try out in my next DP order.
