porter cable 7334

I have a porter cable 7334 random orbit sander. It is roughly 12 years old, so I suspect it is no longer a current model. Is this sander the same as the porter cables being recommended as polishers? I understand that an aftermarket polishing assembly and a counter weight would be necessary. Not much use in buying a new polisher when I already own one!!, but sure don't want to use the wrong device on my MINI.
Thanks

Yep that should be fine. You just need a backing plate and a foam pad. You can leave the counter weight as is.

Figure spending another $20 to $50 to make your polisher useful.
