I chose a house that is facing SW so I don't have to shovel snow in the winter. How smart is that?

It doesn't snow at all on one side of your house ? In Colorado ? 30 inches on one side and none on the other ? That IS smart, regardless of how you pull it off.

If you can produce pics, your status on the board will rise to God-Like (right up there with Richard (aka OctaneGuy) and Heather from DP !

And then you just keep everyone in suspense, MiniMaybee??

Perhaps he is trying to control Colorado's population growth, so he's keeping it a secret.

Well I don't mind telling you what he's talking about (I like to brag)... Having come from the northeast (way upstate New York where the sun doesn't shine for the entire winter!), the mystery to which MiniMaybee refers is the reason I moved to Colorado! The sun is so intense here that it melts the snow almost right away- at least the snow on any kind of pavement. We're closer to the sun here and the sun is actually out frequently in the winter. On average, Colorado sees 300 days of sunshine per year!

So if you have a SW facing house, the snow comes down in equal amounts everywhere but by noon the next day most, if not all, of the snow on the south side of your house is gone from the pavement. No need to shovel, yet you still have lots of other snow in the surroundings to look at or play in.

So who's ready to move to Colorado?? Where else can you get 4 full seasons of weather yet 300 days of bright, beautiful sun!? I love it.

There, secret's out! Sorry MiniMaybee... I had to tell! LOL

I apologize for doubting you, MiniMaybee. I felt a tug on my leg while reading your ummm... story. I guess it wasn't you after all.

I spent a couple months in Colorado in my early days in the Air Force (1979). Gorgeous state, it is ! Might have to give some consideration to relocating there when the time comes to retire.

OctaneGuy has already got this whole topic covered very well so I don't want to be redundant... but sometimes I like to jump in just to ditto it.

I completely agree... 9 times out of 10 the water spots are difficult to remove because they've been sitting in the baking sun. The mineral content is also a factor and will vary from water source to water source.

Bottom line: If you ever get water spots (from your own actions or, say, a sprinkler system at work), get them off ASAP! You will increase your odds in getting them off with ease vs. with difficulty.

Sorry folks, Colorado is full .
We are however taking reservations for the next millennium. Now you could ensure a speedier entrance if you take out a Californian or two Texans (or both) .
Sorry, sorry, sorry - no offense really.
But shouldn't Texans and Californians actually live in Texas or California - not Colorado?
Anyway, though less exciting and probably much more believable than what I was going to offer as an explanation, Heather is absolutely correct. Our side of the street facing SW - balmy, nay, borderline hot and not a remembrance of snow. Other side of the street - Arctic, bone-chilling cold with piles of unfettered snow and penguins.
Location, location, location

Now veering back to topic - only downside to the SW facing house is the summer and full blaring sun. Thus the tent.
(Awesomely returns full circle to the topic at hand.)

Aw man, now I wish I hadn't explained it just yet. I would've liked to have read your creative (even if unbelievable) explanation! I was so eager to show off that I ruined it!
