Smart Carwash is Good Stuff

Just thought I would share...
I have just started using a new-to-me carsoap called Smart Carwash Shampoo & I gotta tell ya, this stuff is amazing. The 1st time I used it I kept thinking WOW my Mini is soooo shiny & all I did was wash it. The shine even lasted thru 2 rains. My boss commented last Monday that he thought I must have done a wax job on the Mini over the weekend but nope all I did was wash. I washed again with it this weekend & I swear I think this stuff somehow fills in swirlmarks because I see none. I am gonna go check it out again at high noon to be sure.

I have been using quick detailer from time to time but it seems like that stuff attracts smudges & ultimately makes drying more of a chore but if I can get my Mini this shiny by washing only I think I will d/c the quick detailer from my routine

Well I went & checked my swirlmarks in the high-noon sun & they have pretty much disappeared so I guess that's why I am getting such a great shine from this carsoap. Truthfully I don't care so much how it is doing it I just sure do like the shine

that looks kinda cool. i do not think it would be good for a carnauba system like mine, but thats like 5% of the mini population it seems. Hm. interesting...

damn i have to switch off carnauba so i can have more fun with products.

I use Klasse topped w/P21S Carnauba on my Mini. The wash says it's gentle on your wax. Is there something in there that makes you think it would be bad on carnauba? Or I guess I can be the crash test dummy & we shall see in a few months

I was wondering how this wash was working for you? Have you tried to put more regular wax on yet and has it worked fine?

I think everything sticks to carnauba in terms of wax decently well. so maybe vice versa is fine too shrugs.

I am still loving the Smart Carwash. We've had a few rains & my water still beads majorly so it's not breaking down my wax. I haven't waxed since I started using it. I am due for a coat of P21S but with Christmas so close I doubt I will have time when I wash tomorrow. I will let you know next weekend after I do my bi-monthly(ish) carnauba wax & then again in Feb or March when I do the full claybar/polish/Klasse/P21S job

yeah I sorta bi monthly wax, although I try and get it in before 6 weeks is up if I have the time and its also warm enough outside. If I had the time I would do it every 4 weeks, but, I do not. It takes me 3-4 hours to wash and wax my car. I always claybar, and I always polish the chrome and treat all the eposed vinyl and rubber areas. All of that takes a long time with a hard carnauba like griot's!

Your combo sounds really interesting. I am curious... how does the look change when you add the p21s on top of the klasse? I wish you lived nearby to give it a look.

This kinda stuff is so hard to put to words ...
to me the Klasse All-In-One makes my Mini shiny & extra smooth but I use it mostly for protection as it is synthetic. The final step of carnauba is what really WOWS the shine for me, it really jumps out at me after I carnauba. Here is an excerpt from autopia on how to get the perfect shine. It sums up my feelings pretty well:

The final step, the literal icing on the cake, is waxing. You may be asking, "After polishing and sealing, why wax?" The answer lies in the richness of color, depth and clarity that only a high-quality carnauba wax can bring out on a polished surface. For this job I reach for P21S Carnauba Wax. P21S Carnauba Wax is a true show car wax. Compared to other show car waxes of similar formula, for the money P21S offers the best final finish. P21S Carnauba Wax brings out a warmth and depth on red and yellow that I have not been able to duplicate with any other wax under $70 per can. On black and dark blue cars, the paint looks like a reflection in a pool of water.

p.s...I dunno if you have read my write up on the Sonus perfect shine kit (you can read it here) but I included before & after pics in post # 7. Of course this kind of thing is hard to capture in a pic but if you have a good puter monitor you can see great improvement in the pics.

The "before and after" pics in post #7 are before and after the *entire* detailing job, right? Not just before and after applying the P21S over the All-in-One?

Beautiful results, BTW!

Correct. The before pic is right after I washed before I did anything else & the after is after I did everything including the P21S carnauba
