Detailing Issue
Detailing Issue
I have this yellow tint to underneath my rear winsheild wiper. I dont know what the hell it is coming from but it is driving me crazy. It looks like its actually coming from the wiper motor. Like the grease used to lube the wiper motor is staining the paint. What the hell am i supposed to do? Im probably going to make the dealer fix it.
Im also having a problem getting little black spots off of my hatch and rear bumper. Im guessing a little goo gone would fix that. But if someone has any other recommendations i would be glad to try them...any help is appreciated. I love my baby and i dont want her paint getting all f'd up

^ I was just "talking" about this chemical stain issue with the rear windshield wiper on another thread. I have the same problem. Unfortunately, I let the stain set in thinking it was going to just wash out when I got to cleaning the car a few days later. Wrong!
If you can let the dealer fix it, more power to you. I hope they can prevent future staining with a fix.
My problem must have happened when I turned on the wiper AND used the washer fluid. I tested the spray nozzel to see if it was working properly - that's when the stain must have happened - excess "whatever" mixed with the cleaning solution dribbled down from where the wiper is attached to the car after nozzel did it's thing.
I was told that claying won't work. The stain will have to be buffed out.
I'd be curious to know what you find out if you talk with the dealer. I'm pondering which of my friends have a buffer to help me this problem.

It's a "known" problem. Something (presumably cosmoline) gets into the washer line during shipping and then leaks, staining the car. It's especially noticible on PW.
There is a service bulletin for this, and they will put in a part to fix it. However, you will have to force them to buff out the stain afterwards. They will do it, but some dealers will require a little arm-twisting.
