I gave Ollie a bath (kind of) today and from afar he looks FABULOUS. However, upon close inspection there is all manner of gunk plastered on to the lower 1/4 of the body--all the way around and randomly placed. The yucks on the front are, I assume, former bugs, but I have no idea what the random goo ***** adorning the rest of the car are comprised of. I scratched the nastiness lightly, to determine the ferocity of its cling, and I can't imagine anything short of a chisel removing it. It's on the paint. Any suggestions as to how I get it off? I don't want it there anymore, it's kind of gross.

Get some paint cleaning clay. I gave my MINI its spring cleaning and there were these strange smudges and whatnot. The cleaning clay removed them all and the paint was smooth and perfectly ready for some wax. I use Griot's Garage stuff, but you can buy any other brand at the local auto store I'm sure.
