Firecracker on my seat.

One of my friends was throwing firecrackers at another one of my friends and they bounced off of him and on to my leatherette seats. Before I could swipe them on to the floor mats, they exploded. All the soot came off with a little armourall muscle. but now there is one char mark to size of a quarter. I would like to give my friend the best chance of not having to pay for anything. But, one question: Anything to help get this out? And Ive already checked in to racing seats, which I would love to have, but none of them have heaters in them. Im most likely going to try this stuff he has called "liquid leather" more for his sake than mine. Once I realize hoe $hitty the liquid stuff looks, Im gonna tell him it needs to be reapholstered(his family is more than capable). It is only the middle square panel on the bottom part of the seat. Its leatherette, so how much will it cost to replace this at a quality apholsterer?

i doubt it. sometimes i see people in the market place selling their seats...

i think you need a replacement, or bandaid it with seat covers.

I think your friend having fun and throwing firecrackers at another friend is no friend....people lose fingers and eyes and other body parts by having such 'fun'....happened to a good friend of mine

Try finding a replacement in the marketplace (maybe a one damaged in a different panel?) and having someone switch it out?

It shouldnt be much... ask around.

Eh, hm south dakota. If you are around here in NY metro area, you can get a professional (and I mean truly professional) upholstery repair guy to fix it 95% of the way. They are truly amazing people with vinyl seats, fabric or leather. They are difficult to find as it is mostly talent and artistic ability rather than technique and products. I know of 2 guys around ny city that can do it right on any car. They fix exotic cars and lots of jaguars normally. Repair cracked dashes too.

These types normally deal with high end used car dealers. The types of dealers that only sell 40k or below mileage cars that are near mint condition with big warranties. Find one of those dealers and you will probaby get your car interior repair guy.

Custom covers.... I would go with leather seat covers. Those are a couple of thousand but are well worth it. They are worth it even if your seats are perfect.

Also, some people on here have added seat heaters to their cars. It is actualyl a part I found out.

Oh yeah, beat your friend's *** in. thats safety pup's tip for the day.
