Clay b4 Clearbra...anything else?

ok,

i have seen a couple of topics that are simlar, but i am was hoping to get some clarification here.

What is the most recommended process of prepping the MINI before the clearbra goes on?

do i clean very carefully with Dawn, clay the car, and then STOP?

If not, what else should i do?

Thats it! Well, thats what the 3M installer told me. They said just bring in the car perfectly clean with no wax.

1. Wash with Dawn
2. Clay
3. Wash with dawn again.

Now keep in mind, you can do this on the front of the car only, if you would prefer.

You know, that claybar thing makes me a little nervous. It seems like it's a bit like microdermabrasion. What if I clay off too much?

I thought the same thing...but once you do it you'll see how easy it is. I actually thoroughly enjoyed the process, it was cool to see how my car went from gritty-feeling to super-smooth in no time!

i have looked all over trying to find some very-fine abrasive clay. so far it looks like the least abrasive is at autopia's site, but that may be too fine for some ppl. also, autogeek.com has a 4pk for $60 of some stuff that apprears to be pretty fine. my current clay is from zaino, but i have no info on that.

anyone else know where to find some clay that is not very abrasive that's a good fit for a new car? hopefully affordable?

I just use Griot's. Worked great on both my old POS car and my hubby's new Yukon.
