Plastic Trim Question
Today as I was pulling out of a parking lot and on to the street a guy on bike (who was riding on the sidewalk) grazed the passenger side rear plastic wheel well trim. There was a bush and tree at the exit to the parking lot so I could not see him and I assume he could not see me as well. He wasn't hurt and he apologized for hitting my MINI. Anyway, whatever part of his bike hit my plastic trim must have been covered with plastic or rubber or something because it didn't scratch or gouge the plastic, but it left a definite mark about 2 to 3 inched long. I guess it would be classified as a crease. I didn't think a trim detailer will remove or cover the mark and it didn't. Anyone have similar type damage to their trim? What did you do to correct it? thanks - larry
Try a Mr. Clean sponge to scrub it clean, assuming something scratched onto the plastic. Be sure to NOT touch any painted areas with the sponge, as it is abrasive.
Other than that, the trim pieces are VERY cheap at your dealer's parts counter ($6-15).
