Armor-All Car Wash Wipes
Hey guys!
I'm sure all of you are as meticulous with your MINI's as I am, so I wanted to share my experience with this neat product. I hand wash my car every Saturday (you can do that down here in Fort Lauderdale!) but lately, my MINI has been absolutely filthy by midweek because of all of the tree pollen in the air.
That, combined with afternoon showers and thunderstorms has left my PW/B MINI looking like a Leopard with all these yellow spots all over it.
Because my work schedule doesn't permit me to wash my car midweek, I invested in a pack of Armor-All Car Wash Wipes yesterday while at Target (they're $3.99 fo 10 Wipes).
I used them today on my lunch break to wipe down my MINI, and I must say, they did an awesome job at cleaning up my MINI until I can wash her again. It took 2 wipes and less than 10 minutes to wipe the whole car down. I'm really impressed with how well they work! They're very portable, and do not require youto rinse your car off afterwards. Great for quick clean ups! I just thought I'd share!

Armor-All is great stuff, and the wipes make it so easy! Did you get the three pack of wipes which have the glass cleaner, the regualr cleaner, and the protectant wipes? They sell that at costco and other wholesale places. Once again, thats what I use to make the inside of my MCS shine.
I live in New Orleans and have the same pollen problem with all the oak trees. I've been a hand washer since I was 16. I'm a little concerned about the wipes. Isn't there a risk that you're rubbing the dirt back into the car's finish?
Tony, I hate to say it...but put down the wipes and back away slowly. Seriously.
Granted you have a Pepper White so scratches are not as apparent, but believe you me, you'll soon have TONS of them if you continue to use these inferior pieces of crap. Ya, ask me how I really feel!
They do not contain enough lubrication to effectively prevent surface debris from being collected in the cloth and scratching your surface. It's just not worth the risk of permanent paint damage. Not to mention how ghetto Armour All is in general.

T-Mac....I know on white it will not show any scratches but how did the black roof look. I know when I washed mine a couple of times in the begining I used the wrong towel to dry it of and I got a few light scratches in the paint. I buffed them out right away but I am wondering if you clean off the car without water and you have dirt or whatever on the paint these lift it off without scratching the paint?? If so that's pretty cool and I will have to get some for the road trips I plan on this summer. Thanks T-Mac for the news. 4 days till Tampa.....!!!!!!
Hey Ryan and Bruce!
Thanks for the feedback!
My MINI is suffering from a pollen issue more than a dirt-and road-grime problem. I gently wiped her down and flipped the cloth over several times to avoid exactly what you're talking about. I have to say, I was a little reluctant to even try them out, but they did do a pretty good job.
Now that you both have me nervous that by being so **** about how my MINI looks I may be doing harm to her finish, I'll keep a close eye on any potential scratching and use them on our Chevy Trailblazer if I have to! I'll have to pick up a bottle of Quick Detailer instead!
I must say, receiving advice from two of the most well respected MCO'ers is certainly a privelege.

Davbret has got it correct, Armor-All is pure crap. If you want to do an easy touch up, use a semi-wet finishing spray like Wizards Mist-n-Shine or even stuff like Meguires Quick Detailer and Eagle One Wipe-n-Shine (but they're harder to buff out and don't gloss as uniformly). Make sure you're using clean microfiber towels! My only word of caution with finishing sprays is, DON'T USE THEM IF YOUR CAR IS MAJOR DIRTY!
Tony, in other words, you'll have to either resort to taking the day off work to clean your MINI, or deal with the "leopard spots" until you can properly wash your MINI with sudsy sheepskin or natural sponge.
