Shop Vacs... what to use for interior and garage cleaning after detailing...
here's the nozzles and adapters i bought. imho, you only need
the "car nozzle" to do your car unless you have some really tight
spots you want to clean...
they call the horizontal one a "car nozzle"

the verticle "crevice tool"
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...seBVCookie=Yes
and the 2-1/2 to 1-1/4 adapter:

i don't need it on mine, but they even have a silencer...

I picked up the IKEA can myself yesterday, fit's nicely out in the shed.
Ooooohhh.... they have attachments intended for PCs as well... AND they can be reversed to become a blower! Yaay!! As someone that has about a dozen PCs through my house every year (I do reviews for an online site) and also have a ginormous, hairy dog, that alone makes it worthwhile. I'm gettin' one!
Wow...very Nice!!!
VERY IMPRESSIVE GARAGE...errr....SHOP...errr SHOWROOM!!!!!!
Makes my digs look like shantytown!

thanks guys.
honestly though, the stuff in mygarage is not expensive at all. I just tried my best to color
coordinate and organize everything together so that it
compliments each other...
i would like to put in a large tool case and full sized
workbench, etc. but with 2 cars in the 2.5 garage,
there's not enough room when you want to be able to
work on cars while both are garaged. I know i can fit the
cases in the garage, but then I won't be able to detail
or do minor servicing without moving one of the cars
out of the garage... which to me, makes no sense as i
hate firing up the motor for such short duration at a time.
im thinking about getting these in Sept.. i got a 10% off
coupon with my last order.
non-swivel stool.... i don't want the ones with seatback as i might
accidentally swivel it while moving it around and hit my car. lol...

and yep, can't go without this... im gonna slap on a vintage
Texaco sticker on it. this one right, S Cuvez? this will
be my primary trash can, not the oily can pict above
which i'll only use when servicing my cars.

Seek help (hopefully I won't be in the waiting room ahead of you by then).

well the oily can is for combustibles, the 'primary' trash can isfor paper waste, old magazines, flyers, etc.
BradB's garage is nice. several ranks up from what i have, no doubt.
but remember, this is just my starter house. who said
i'll be satisfied with just a 2.5 car garage.

do you have a pict of that vac?
please share!
^^ very nicely done!
it all comes down to whether you're ready and
comfortable with what you're trying to achieve.
im not quite there yet.
hopefully someday!
the next house i buy, i will definitely get the
garage prepared before I move in so that it will
be much easier to work on than doing spots at a
time. but im happy that my wife's cool about my
hobby though... imagine fighting over with your
SO about garage space! at least my garage is
all mine. (can't get any better then that!) lol

You guys kill me... I can barely fit 2 cars in my garage at any given time and, to do that, I've let the passengers out first so they can be parked up against a wall so tightly that you can't open the passenger's door.

garage is so darn narrow you can barely get out of the car once
inside...plus they put their lawn stuff on the wall which makes it
even more narrow. for a car guy, i would make it into a lux one
car garage and park the other cars outside on the driveway.
Picked up my 6-gallon Sears shop vac last night... it was on sale for only $34 - what a deal!
Seems to have great suction... the only drawback is the stock vacuum tool is a bit too large to properly get into the nooks and crannys near the seats - I need to buy the car detailing tool. Problem is, the tool runs for like $10 - seems like robbery seeing as how the ENTIRE VAC was only 3X that much, but what are you gonna do?
It also made short work of the year's worth of accumulated leaves and dust that sweeping missed... my garage looks great now (other than the clutter, of course).

i just saw a post at another forum that the Sears Hardware in
ElkGrove Village, IL right off of Biesterfield and ArlingtonHts rd. is
closing...which means, everything's on sale! might be a good
chance for your locals to checkout their remaining inventory to
get a great deal on your shop vac!!
