Cleaning tinted glass
Cleaning tinted glass
Had my windows tinted a couple weeks ago. They did a great job, although they messed up the back seat a little with the application substance.
I was wondering if anyone else seems to have a hard time getting the tinted windows clean like I used to be able to. I fear there is dried chemical or residual dirt left between the film and the glass that will forever haunt me when exposed to the sun.
Anyone?
Thanks.

It's entirely possible that there's crap caught between your film and your glass - I made the tinter re-do almost all of my wife's windows a few years back because it looked like they had sprinkled sand on the tint before applying it to the glass!
Window tint is one of those things where the final quality of the job is almost entirely dependent on the skill and care of the installer. I've seen plenty of crap jobs that used the best 3M/Llumar/Whatever tint on the market, just because the installer didn't care (light gaps, bubbles, creases, dirt, etcetera).
That being said, it's also possible that the last traces of moisture haven't worked their way out yet. Give it a few more weeks and see if the clarity improves. Are you seeing a general haziness, or can you pick out individual pieces of dirt beneath the tint?

Also, in case your installer didn't inform you, make sure you do not use window cleaner with ammonia in it - it can damage the tint.
Use Stoner's Invisible Glass - works great and is safe for tinted windows.

No just a general haziness. And thanks, I am aware of the cleaning factor and am using tint appropriate agents.
I am hoping it improves. It is just from the inside in direct sunlight that I can see what I would call a haziness. I am hoping it is just residual moisture.
