What I got from Griot's - am I missing anything important?
Yeah, but Beta has a lifetime guarantee, regardless of how you use them, and most importantly, you'll never have to call them on it! I don't know about the Griot's tools but with Craftsmen's guarantee it's a pain in the neck because you have to go through the hassle of getting them replaced when they break. Beta tools just don't break. Of course, we all know that Griot's is awesome about returns if they do fail. Plus, I'm not dissing Griot's... I'm dissing Craftsmen and pointing out that Beta is not that expensive if you consider the quality.
The Beta screwdrivers are the best, IMO! (I know, I know... I'm biased again but we honestly would not be selling them if I didn't think that!)
We have a demo set you can play with in the retail store... you really do need to take a trip to Colorado!

never know!
i didn't look too carefully through DP's site before but i was looking through
their beta tools today and i think those prices are pretty good.
i think i might consider getting a few of those tools next year after i
sort out my space vs tool cabinet issue in my garage.
griots had that Facom tool + tool cabinet package going for like $2.2k
or something before.. i shouldve just bought that before i spent here
and there on these craftsman tools, now that i think about it. i know
ill be using these tools in my garage until i die anyway... probably
cheaper to buy one nice set than keep buying junk sets over and over.

Great tools that are already organized.
be my biggest tool investment phase yet.

the master tool set was like $6.5k... i can't remember wat the griots
tool set was... but i thought it was like $2.2k... i could be wrong.
We retail any of the Beta tools and tool sets available in the USA (which is most of them). If you are interested in any of the Beta stuff, just let me know and I'll get you pricing.
I *may* be able to do some NAMer special pricing on Beta tools, depending on which tool or tool set you're interested in.
To see all of Beta's stuff, check out the main Beta website then let me know the part number. I'll see what kind of price I can do.

They have sets that fit into all of their chests and organizers. The sets that go into drawers are listed under "thermoformed trays" on the website. Most others are available empty or containing a complete set (ie: Portable Tool Chest or Three-Module Tool Trolley or Cargo Evolution Tool Cabinet).
One thing to note is that the Italians think about grouping and pricing differently than we do here in the U.S. You'll notice that the sets that come with a chest, cab or other container are the same price you would pay if you bought each item (wrench, etc), individually. So although you don't get any discounts for buying in complete sets, this pricing model allows you to pick and choose just what you want.
I hope this helps... did I answer your question?
And yes, the Ferrari stuff is VERY cool.

EMMBQ will net you a 8oz SpeedShine with your purchase.
i ordered a few things this week... like the CF tissue box for my buddy's
b-day present
(that thing's nice!), that griots stool (non swivel
type, easier to manuver in my tight space), glass MF towel (to compare
with DP's
), and some cleaners, etc.

the CF tissue box, i don't know wat it looks like as it's my buddy's present
i didnt want to open it up. its by AutoArt, so should be nice. it's got good
weight to it.
The griots stool looks great!
nice and tall
non-swivle type so i can move it around the garage without worrying
about it swinging around and hitting my car or something.
also got the siphon pump (just a handy thing to have), my 2 free bottles of
SpeedShine.
also, got the window MF towel 4 pack. i opened the
package for the towel and it smells like mothballs :impatient i think i
got a headache. :impatient aya aya... need some fresh air.
will
try it out maybe tonight to wipe the inner windows of my MCS and G35C.

im getting the facom ratchet to replace my craftsman pos 1/2 drive
short handle. also ordered the facom extended 3/8drive with a 11"
handle. I have a nice 60 teeth craftsman 3/8 drive which i use most
so no need to replace the short handle with the facom. Amazon has
some nice deals on the SK version so if you're looking for nice tools
check over there too. basically the same as the facom's Griot's sells.
i got couple more misc tools and items (non-detailing stuff) from
Griots so that's why i ordered the facoms. Griots looks like they're
going to discontinue the facoms and start carrying their own-brand
tools.
imho, that Griots 3/8 and 1/4 drive ratchet set was done in poor taste..
the reason is the color. BLACK. i tend to loose black sockets and tools
while working under somewat poor lighting. i prefer bright colors. another
reason why i use red tape on pretty much every black tool so that i can
find the damn thing quickly.
also, i cracked up when i saw theirbutt-ugly tire pressure gauge.
hopefully their next round will lookbetter.
the packaging tape says "DO NOT OPEN UNTIL CHRISTMAS!" blahahaha

love the sense of humor they have.

im not very certain of the relationship of facom, sk, and beta.
i think SK bought facom? not that it really matters. i just wanted
a ratchet with finer pitch (72 vs 30 is huge!
)i thought the majority of beta tools came in that ikky yellow/black
stanley look?
Let me know what you think of there tools. Christmas...like you can wait.
I am not sure who owns who. I thought they sold Sk not Facom, but they always seemed to have a mix.
I saw alot of Beta that was red, but that may have just been there boxes..Heather?

i took a quick coffee break and opened the box.
the facom ratches are nice. very fine pitch. the click feel is similar to
my 60teeth craftsman but smoother. it makes my 30tooth craftsman
short handle feel like tinker toys.
the 30tooth long handle to do
lugs is fine though.
i think my next ratchet will be the gearless (oneway bearing) stubby's
Griots sells. i think im going to ask for those for Christmas.
i also checked out my new oil filter wrench. Nissan uses tiny diameter filters
and my oil wrench was barely grabbing it. the Griots one is nice and small,
plus angled which means better access to my Legacy's filter where the
header pipes surround the oil filter
anyone looking for a new oil
filter wrench should check these out.

All of the Beta Scuderia-Ferrari cases/cabs/etc are red (often with some black trim). Usually the tools inside are orange and black.
All of the regular (non-Ferrari) Beta tools, tool sets, and cases/cabs/etc are orange with black trim.
I LOVE the Beta Ferrari stuff... it is a gorgeous color of red. BTW, we're about to put the Ferrari sets on sale for Christmas... We haven't decided for sure yet but the sale price is likely to be pretty generous. Of course, they'll still probably be more than anything the other mainstream tools though... that's the way it is when you've got both Beta AND Ferrari on the tool.
It's a cruddy photo, but you get the idea...

-Heather
Although we occasionally put Beta stuff on sale, Beta doesn't do it at all.

That being said, I didnt make enough at the time to purchase the box or tools.
EMMBR will net you a free 8oz WheelCleaner (approved by BBS) with your order.
i decided that i wanted to get the nice tire air compressor instead of
the gearless ratchet for xmas.
i noticed tonight that the cheepo
one ive that been using the last 3+ years is starting to show some wear...
doesn't leak but it seems like the compression rate has dropped quite a
bit. (takes significantly longer now to pump air into the tire).

i think im done with tools for now.
time to save up to get the tiles.

I received this compressor today only to find it defective. box was
kinda ikky from the beginning...looked kinda used or something.
fuse is fine, my power source was 13.8v, but no go when turned on.

called up Griots and will send it back tomorrow for a full refund.
the valve on the hose was EXTREMELY tight on the tire valve stem
so im going to look for a different compressor. also the 12v alligator
clips (power source) are a pita imho, although i was going to modify
it and put a nice connector on it if it worked.
oh well...

scurves- i get 15% Off coupons now!
i ordered up my 3/8 driveFacom short handle today but didn't use the coupon. going to use it
on my next big (?) purchase.
