Imagox, are you using the Ice Spray Detailer, or the Ice Liquid with the applicator?? They are 2 different products and I think that's where the confusion is happening...sounds like you're using the detailer, and OctaneGuy thinks you're using the liquid stuff. For the record, I'm using Ice liquid and Meguires maroon QD with no problems...

I have the detail spray (comes in the trigger bottle), not the polish (which comes in a flip-top container). I never bothered getting the polish, as I knew I'd eventually use Meguiar's for that.

Aww yes, that indeed would be the source of confusion.

I have to say, that I while I await my STUPID FREAKIN MINI WHERE IS DARNIT er yeah, while i await my mini, I have been using my griot's stuff on other cars for practice.

The speed shine is an amazing product. wow. I bought this cheesey cheap blue something synth sealant clear stuff for my crud car so I can sell it this week. It did an ok job for being cheap and fast after a thorough washing and tar removal. Today, I decided to try out the speed shine. It made the car 2x the shine than it was when I first "waxed" it (use that world loosely for the blue stuff). Also, I didnt have to wash it. This stuff works really fast and cant be screwed up. really impressed. Cant wait to use the whole line on my new car.

I wonder now. What is the purpose of washing the car besides like undercarriage or for salt, or maybe country driving? Even with my crud car outside 24/7/365, I havent had to wash it for 2 weeks on account of the speedshine. THere must be a point where the "lubricity" of the speedshine cant handle the grime, even though this stuff cleaned it off better than soap and water.

Well in theory, you'd get to a point where the wax would need to be reapplied, and you'd want to wash it before you did that.

But at some point (for me it's like once a week) you're going to want to wash the wheels, clean the tires/trim, and do the interior. Then, you may as well just wash the car while you're at it.

And I've found that with a good wax job, washing is nearly as easy as Speed Shine-ing the whole thing.

I guess that is true. I do not believe though that car wash soaps do not remove some of the wax. I would think they must on some level.

If you like Griot's products, you should try his Spray-on-Wax. It is not a sub. for waxing rather a great between wax product, to help with the loss durning routine washes.

We have used it on our 'over the road' tractor, boat, and pick-up....in fact just did our pick-up yesturday.

Give it a try if like Speed Shin you'll like the Spray on Wax.

^+1 SprayOn wax is an excellent product to reinforce Best of Show
after a wash. After I mist the panel, i use a MF towel and gently
work it into the paint until almost dry. then turn the towel over to
buff.

i also use it directly on door jams with a terry towel with excellent
results.

note to self... after my high wattage fluorscent spot light test, i
noted that Griot's 100% lint-free cotton terry towels swirls the
paint after being machine washed... don't use
it to apply SprayOn wax! Only use MF towels.

I don't really care for door jam area, but not on the outer paint.
im glad i only used MF towels to apply SprayOn wax on the Legacy.
