I used a microfiber towel, from Target, specifically meant for glass...but it left teesy little lint specks that looked like a whole mess of pits...they were difficult to remove so I clayed they off and they were gone

I wonder if that might be my problem. I use microfiber as well. Gotta try that - thanks!

Yikes..got me there! I would certainly polish it then. A safe, yet one of the most abrasive I have used is this. Like I said, I've tried them all!

BTW...was the new windshield under warranty? Mine looks like crap and my warranty is almost up. I wonder if I have a shot at it?

Yeah, it was. I had a pair of long, silvery cracks along the driver's side edge and they replaced it. The weird thing is now I have a FRESH, horizontal scratch right in the center of the passenger side of the NEW one now (just noticed it when washing last night). I know that nothing more solid than a bug has EVER hit that windsheild, so I have no freaking idea why it's cracking like that. the odds of getting a pair of defective screens seems like a long shot, but I guess it's statistically possible....

Hmmm. Defective installation? Maybe it's getting torqued wrog somehow? Bummer, whatever it is. Takes the fun out of a great car.

I did this today and am anxious to see how it works.
