Considering small window stickers and motoring ID

Hey guys, I just recently got my SB/S MINI! Haven't named him/her yet, the inspiration hasn't hit me yet. But I do want to make it even more personalized. So I already reserved a motoring ID from the owners lounge. When I click on "find ID letters online" it takes me to an office depot with the item "vinyl letters." My question is, what really is vinyl?? I had a parking pass that was clear and it wasn't a sticker but for some reason stuck to windows extremely well. I placed it in the inside window and moved it from car to car with extreme ease, leaving no sticky residue + easy removal. Was that vinyl?? Also, I have regualr stickers, Apple stickers to be precise (I love Apple) that I want to put on my Mini. Would putting either vinyl or stickers on my windows leave any permanent marks behind? What about how it holds up to some nasty weather + windshield wipers?? Should that things be placed on the indoors side of the window? Thanks in advance!

The parking pass that you had sounds more like static cling than vinyl. While vinyl is usually pretty easy to get off, I don't think it sticks well afterward.

You shouldn't have any permanent residue from any type of sticker, but it may take some work to get them off. There are probably other people on here that know more about what products to use for adhesive removal.

The vinyl stickers that I have (Deal's Gap dragons, Motoring ID, and "Actual Size") have held up great in bad weather, but I do make sure to keep them out of the way of the wiper. There's enough room on the rear windshield and rear side windows that you shouldn't need to place stickers under the wiper.

The one problem I do have is the dragon stickers getting lifted on the edges when I wash the car. This shortens the lifespan of the sticker a bit, so if you have anything with small pieces on the end that can come up easily, you may want to find a way to put those on the inside.

Hope that helps!

You won't have any residue issues on the window. Some Invisible Glass and elbow grease will get almost anything off of glass.

Contact one of the vendors like Aesthetic Creations - they can make you a Motoring ID decal that will be much easier to install than individual vinyl letters from Office Depot.

Thanks for the info guys. I went ahead and put my motoring ID vinyl letters in the "official position". It is going to hit the wipers but many users reported that it is fine. If anything does happen, I have my backup letters in hand, which then I will put my ID under the wiper, split by the wiping **** thing.

As for my other sticker ... I realized it as crappy quality and it is almost see through when on a window, like all the air bubbles show through. So I guess i'll try to find a vinyl one.

Contact Aesthetic Creations (call them). They were making MMID stickers that were a little smaller than 'spec'. I have one on my back window and there are no wiper clearance issues.

for decal removal on glass, just get a razer window scraper tool from Homedepot
for like $5 and some googone or Windex with AmmoniaD.

for removing decals off panels, i use a plastic razer blade i use for my PDR
glue puller. great stuff. i had to repair a clearbar on the sideskirts of my
G35C last weekend (something kicked up and tore it) and that plast blade
with some WD40 worked great to remove the original. no scratches.
