Whoops! Sorry about that!

Let us know how it turns out!

Is it dry? That's the biggest determination.

OK, Ready to drink the Zaino Kool Aid

New MCS, CR/W. Have it about 8 wks now. Have only washed it with Zymol "bathe". (works great, but really $$$!)

My question is an economic one. Since we have no products for the "proper" care of our new Mini, where is the best place to buy the whole enchilada?

Just go to Zaino web and buy kit? I read earlier in thread just to buy exterior kit...

THEN I will have more questions about application.

Thanks for the guidance.

Griff

nvarner, I'm in Alpharetta so can give an idea how it should go. I usually do the wash and claybar at night then do a Z6 in the am before I start putting on the Z2 (this is assuming your car is garaged overnight).
Make sure your Z2 is a really thin coat or it will take forever to dry! With the humidity the way it is this week (and all summer for that matter), I'd aim for 2 coats, maybe 3 if you start really early.

ChiliCooperS, like you, I've been aware of autopia for years. (I never post there, though, my questions are always answered before I need to ask!)
I am aware of all the other fabulous products out there, but for now am happy with Zaino. Maybe by the time I get to my next vehicle I will have even more "personal" time to spend learning about all the other products and how and when to use them. I can't wait to hear/see how yours turns out. And I'm dying to see what your new "secret" product is!

so if you have new swirls from a carwash your car was given as a "surprise" and it already has three recent coats of z2, will z5 on top of that help? or do i need to strip the z2 to get the z5 right on the surface of the clearcoat?

will clay remove z2?

Z5 on top will help fill in any swirls. If the swirls don't disappear to your satisfaction after 2 coats of Z5, give up... it will take a mechanical polish to get 'em out.

Clay will remove Z2.

No problem ChilliCooperS . I didn't get a chance to start over last night; I will shoot again for tonite as BoCRon probably knows---tomorrow is Screen on the Green night at Piedmont Park. Free movies on the lawn at the most popular city park and I don't want to be "rolling dirty". I definately need to get it done by Saturday as I'm giving a Birthday Dinner for my partner at a cool new resturant named "BED" here in Atlanta...where you can dine on Beds.

It's been raining all weekend...Great for the grass and flowers but, not for car detailing.
I guess I'll have to try this next weekend. On Thursday night I did do 1 coat of z-5 then z-6, just because...not sure if I saw a difference.

My first Zaino

I drank the kool aid, and finally after having our MCS for 12 weeks, got to wax it:

1. Dawn wash
2. clay using Z-7 and water
3. Z-7 to wash car
4. Z-5
5. Z-6
6. Z-5
7. Z-6
8. Z-2
9. Z-6

Only 3 coats to start, but WOW!, it does look magnificent. What's impressive is the feel. It is truely smoother than the glass!
