I did not know where to post this question, so I thought I'd start here.

My sunroof will occasionally squeal when open/closing. Nothing horrible, just annoying. and I was wondering what you guys use to lubricate the tracks and moving parts up there. Or is this best left to the dealer?

Mine started squealing and I mentioned it to my MA when I had my car in for its Oil service.

When I picked up my car, they said they took the sunroof apart and put it all back together as a warranty service. Hasn't squealed since.

 

I had this issue and my dealer lubricated the track with some serious grease to correct the problem. They had to take the sunroof off to do this apparently. The only down side is that the grease was all over the roof even after they washed the MINI. And I continued to see the grease trail from the sunroof back to the spoiler everytime I washed the car or happen to get caught in the rain. It eventually stopped though. I just went through a lot of quik detailer.
