Overspray on plastic

Would anyone know how to get light overspray off the plastic bumper trim?

Thanks,
Luke

Difficult to answer without a bit more detail, but you might try a claybar. That's often used to remove light overspray on painted surfaces.

I've never clay-bar'd plastic trim unless it was a smooth, shiny plastic (and then very gently). I would try to use as few passes as possible and lots of lube... be very careful... do a few passes with the clay, rinse, dry, examine, repeat if necessary.

Also, the sooner you do it, the better. Fresh overspray comes off much easier than that which has had lots of dry time.

Try something called mineral spirits, I think home depot has it. If not your local paint shop (i.e PPG) will have it. This stuff should get the overspray right off. I don't think that it will hurt your plastic but try a small indescrete spot first if you go this route. I would try the clay bar fisrt though.

I would do a test with the mineral spirits, it's alcohol, and it may make the black go white.

I would try a 3M green pad, the very fine ones used for furnuture finnishing, very soapy water, and a gentle rub.

If that does not work, use the same pad with WD40, that stuff does more than stop squicks.
