Benifits of Waxing/detailing
Benifits of Waxing/detailing
I've been very busy at work lately, 12-14 hour days, 6 days a week, plus 1 hour commute each way
I had time about 3 weeks ago to use the booster wax.
The last time I did a full wash, clay, wax, was 6 weeks ago.
I have to wash the car almost every day at a wand wash because of almost constant rain, and unreal bugs.
I sometimes have no time to dry properly, so I do a QD spray on breaks at work to clean up any waterspots that the throttle driven air dryer does not get off. I park in the shade so they don't bake on till I can get at them.
I have to clean my windsheild ever day, by hand, because of bugs. Even the hi-test washer fluid can't keep up.
Today, a day off, I had time to hand wash, do some spot claying, and put a coat of booster wax on.
I also used the BMW wheel cleaner on my white wheels. That stuff works great. Did the wheels first, then washed the car, and they look like new.
The car has looked great the whole time, except for when caked with bugs.
The Meguiars NXT wax has held up well, and the booster spray wax helps to keep it up.
I have one more week of long hours at work, then things back way off, just evenings. So I plan on doing a major clean, wax, and detailing then.
Using any good quality product will give you great results, and protect your paint and plastic. Some may last longer than others, some are easier/quicker to apply. They give different looks.
The bottom line for me is keeping the car looking great, even in bad conditions, and turning heads, and not just cause it's a MINI

You're right...if the results are are satifying to the owner, that's what really matters. In any case, a product that can stand up to the extreme "bugging" you get, Lot, has got to be quite good. No one can argue that!!
I envy your ability to spot clean your MINI at work as needed...something I cannot do. A simple matter which could be dealt with in a few minutes becomes much more of an issue if it's been sitting in the hot sun all day. That's all right...for every potential detailing issue, there is a regimen (somehow, somewhere) to address it...just takes a little creativity.

We had the first rain this afternoon in over a week. I washed and dryed Poco this morning
.
The rain water beaded up in perfect circles. As deep as they were wide. That would be the sealant repelling the water.
The bugs, not as bad as they were, just washed right off.
I was driving in the rain and the rainx washer fluid I have been trying, seems to work great, water just runs off the windsheild, no streaking.
Poco needs a good wax and detail. But until I get the time next week, he looks great, cleans up easy, and makes me proud
I love touching my MINI

The official OEM MINI wheel cleaner is absolutely fantastic. It really cleans up caked wheel brake dust/dirt fairly easily.
I also keep my MINIs in tip-top condition. It hasn't rained here in over 2 weeks, so the last wash/wax for my '05 MCS has held up pretty well.
It pays to keep your car cleaned/detailed.
