I have used the NXT and have been very happy with the product. Easy on and very easy off. Does my car in minutes. As usual be careful around the black trim parts (If not have some P-Butter handy)A very nice polish and a great shine is the end result. I have been a ZAINO fan for a few years, but availability made me try NXT. You can get it anywhere. Also used the companion NXT soap yesterday for the first time. I don't know if it is me or if it enhanced the winter polish/finish I had on my car. I especially noticed the resulut on the black roof.

Good luck.

i tried nxt, but it didn't last as long as zaino. i'm not sure it's any faster than zaino once you have the knack of putting on zaino (at least in a warm climate....)

I am also not a huge NXT fan. Rather low durability.

Heavy oil content, looks great upon initial application but dies fairly fast.

NXT shampoo is good and cheap.

NXT is great stuff. Been using it on my MINI for the past 1-1/2 years. I had 12 coats of Zaino my first 2 months of owning my MINI, but found that NXT Tech Wax was easier to apply, more readily available from my local stores, and less expensive. And since I like to wash my car atleast once every 3 weeks, with Meguiar's Quik Detailing every day, applying a single coat of wax isn't hard if needed. Normally I will use a PCDA Orbital Buffer with Tech Wax once every few months, and use NXT Spray Wax when needed. When you QD every day, it's easy to tell when you need a little boost of Spray Wax because the surface isn't as slippery.

OctaneGuy....I see from your post that you wash every 3 weeks but QD every day, but don't you have to basically wash the car fully prior to QD'ing?...so do you wash your car every day?

If your car is not "really" filthy you can QD it. That's the beauty of QD'er and a "good" microfiber towel. The lube in the QD lifts the dirt and the MF sweeps it away so you don't scratch anything.

I QD my car more so before washing that I do after washing as well.

Yep, as BradB said, Quik Detailer is all you need if your car isn't caked with dirt and debris. My car leaves my garage spotless with a shiny mirror finish, and once I return even a few hours later, it's coated with road dust. I will use NXT Glass Cleaner to clean my windshield, and Quik Detailer and a Costco yellow Microfiber towel to remove this dust. I also use it on my white wheels to remove brake dust. I do this atleast twice a day.

Basically, if you're familiar with using a duster--you know what can be dusted and what can't. I used QD in the same fashion. There obviously is a point where it just needs to be washed.

Especially when it's raining I will wash my car and break my 3 week rule.

I am using the NXT suff but find their wax booster (detailer) hard to get off. I now see the Gold for sale with Gold detailer. I also have the regular stuff in the red plastic bottle. Is this stuff all the same with different labels? Pretty confusing!

The gold, I believe, is a carnauba wax while the NXT is a polymer.

There are small differences between them, but the NXT has the biggest formulation difference. The NXT wax has a polymer base where the others are a carnauba base. The NXT wax booster, I agree, is a pain in the patootie! It does work as a wax booster but fails miserably as a quick detailer, IMO. The red bottled QD is better as an actual QD...it wipes on and off much easier and is better to "dust" the car off with.

All in all, I'm not much of a Meguiars QD fan. If you have ever tried such QD's as Sonus Carnauba Spritz or EF Clear Pearl you would trash your Meguiars in a heartbeat! Much easier to apply and way glossier.

Come on Brad, don't spread misinformation about Meguiar's!! NXT Spray Wax is NOT a quick detailer! It's a Spray wax. The Meguiars Quik Detailer in the red spray bottle or the new NXT Speed Detailer are quick detailers.

Most people I see also don't use Spray Wax properly. The easiest way to use NXT Spray Wax is to take a microfiber cloth, spray the wax on it, and gloss it over the already cleaned car. It's a booster--meaning your car should already have been waxed with NXT Tech Wax previously. You don't take a car that hasn't been waxed, and just use Spray Wax.

As I said before, I wash my car just about once every 3 weeks. I Quik Detail every day. I wax about once every 2-3 months because I like to buff out my car--sometimes more often. I use Spray Wax in between when I feel some drag on my microfibers when using QD.

Brad it's clear you aren't much of a Meguiar's fan, but maybe if you knew how to use their products, you wouldn't make comments like that.

Just my 2 cents.

NXT Wax Booster reffering to is the same one I have? Its NXT Wax Booster(spray bottle), and I used it this morning.
Its easy to wipe off, I am not sure why it fails miserably?
Do you have any documentation regarding NXT Wax Booster against other products?

I have Zaino products, it works very well, so does Meguiar's.
Meguiar's NXT products work great even if you are first timer, just read direction, and it does more than what you pay for

This thread was discussing Quick Detailers and AlanB noted his difficulty when using NXT Spray Wax in that manner. I told him it works as a wax booster but not as a quick detailer. I know you agree with that.

Right or wrong, many people use it like a QD and expect it to work like one. The Spray Wax contains trace waxes (duh) oils and fillers. These rejuvinate the surface, add gloss and fills in swirls and imperfections giving you a smooth, slick look again. For this, it's great. You should start with a clean surface. As you know you wipe it on...and into the surface of the paint until it spreads and the carrier solvents dissipate. This takes a few seconds. Polish until dry and even.

Where this "fails miserably" when someone uses it as a quick detailer is because a quick detailer is designed to be more of a lubricant, a much lighter formula that lifts dust and dirt into the microfiber and "off" the surface. You don't rub much at all into the surface. Do this on a dirty car with the Spray Wax and you risk scratching. Also dirt causes hazing and films that so many people have issues with.

And I'm not bashing all things Meguiar here. I simply said I am not a fan of their QD's.

Pleeeeease don't accuse me of not knowing not how to use Meguiars products! I'm just assuming you were kidding, right.
