Exterior/Interior Glass?
I'm not a huge fan of the Rain-X coating for glass. The only car I tried it on immediately lost a good deal of the clearing function of the wipers. If I was driving at 65 MPH on the highway in a pouring rain, the Rain-X was very cool. If I was driving at 15 MPH through brown slush/ice/snow, the Rain-X wouldn't clear the window from the tiny splatter droplets and the wiper blades would just smear it around rather than remove it completely, which they had been doing until I applied Rain-X.
INTERIOR
I use Stoners Invisible glass cleaner and a microfiber made for cleaning glass on the interior. You can find Stoners (spray can) in Target, auto stores, Sprawl-mart, etc.
EXTERIOR
The exterior glass gets a different treatment. This yields a easily cleaned, highly reflective glass surface that sheds soil quickly.
1: Every six months or so, I use my dual-action polisher and Rain-X Glass Polish (or any other glass polish I can find... I just found 2 bottles of the Rain-X polish in a clearance bin, so I picked them up).
2: Whenever I Zaino (every six months or so) with Z2, I treat all of the windows as well.
3: I wash the car as usual every week or so.
4: I use Zaino Z-6 detailing spray and a buffing microfiber to bring the glass up to a bright shine or to touch up between washings.

I forgot to mention:
Re: The exterior glass process above
This gives you a Rain-X like effect at high speeds when it is raining but doesn't degrade wiper performance at the slower speeds.
---------
I am not a Zaino spokesman, nor do I play on on TV.
I don't hate Rain-X (love their glass polish), but I don't like it on the windshield. For a few years, I used Rain-X on my side and rear windows (no wiper) to help keep them cleaner between washes and to add the cool water shedding effect. Eventually, I stopped as it wasn't worth the time.

Rain X and glass repair
I had a small pit in my windshield with a star crack. When the glass repair guy came over to fix it (with the epoxy-U.V. light treatment) he asked if I had Rain-X (I didn't). He said that in his experience the glass repair doesn't go well on windshields that have Rain-X on them---another reason perhaps to not use Rain-X.
I agree with the Rain X thoughts. I also Zaino my side windows.
My favorite glass cleaner is Einszett Glass Cleaner. But that is now harder to come by because of the distribution issues. (I just bought three extra bottles.)
But Invisible Glass is ok. I just find foam hard to use on the inside. You want to spray the towel and not the glass. Spraying the glass gets too much fallout and overspray on the interior.
And the cheapo Eagle One glass cleaner is really pretty good stuff as well.
