The air duct horn on my car is all crodily. Lots of pitting and staining. I assume the car saw road salt at one time in its life. How can I clean the air duct? I don't need it to be perfect, but I don't want it to look terrible.
He cant be speaking about the black air duct horn which is made of plastic behind the radiator....if he is, damn....
Guessing he's wants info on how to dress up the aluminum Supercharger air ducts on either side of the intercooler....
What I did was clean them up, scuffed up with some steel wool, cleaned them again with simple green, then wiped down with alcohol. After taping off the areas to protect from over spray, stuffing in wads of news paper, I sprayed them down with silver ceramic spray paint meant for brake calipers...lasts a long time and looks new. Advance Auto had the paint.
Yes, part #8 on Eurothrasher's diagram. I wasn't really sure what they were called, either. I looked them up on Outmotoring. They referred to it as the "Intercooler Air Duct: Right"
And honestly, I don't even want to "dress them up" so much as just have them not look gross. I'll give the steel wool and alcohol a shot.

If you use the steel wool it will dullen the finish requiring a quick spray...It can all be done in 30 mins or less. Not a big process, most time is taping off and stuffing in news paper into areas to guard against over spray.
