Meguiar's ceramic
Meguiar's ceramic
Hi, folks. Just a heads up on a great product from Meguiar's that I just used. It's a hybrid ceramic wax, comes in a spray bottle, is really easy to apply and produces the most amazing shine I've ever had on my MINI. It has pretty incredible hydrophobic properties as well. Check it out. I think you'll like it.

Did you clay your car to remove the contaminants before application? How is the result on the black fender trim?
I did not clay my car first because I had machine polished the paint previously to eliminate any contaminants. Claying would be a good idea if you don't want the hassle of machine-polish. I did not use it on the fender trim because the instructions say to apply it like wax the very first time you use it -- spray it on, wipe it off -- and I applied it to the paint only. On subsequent applications, you're supposed to wash the car, spray the product on everything (no rubbing) and simply rise before drying normally. That supposedly distributes the product over the entire car including the trim. I use a Turtle Wax product on my trim and intend to keep using the ceramic product like a wax, building up additional coats. On your 2013 (since it's newer than my 2004) I would imagine claying the paint and using this Meguiar's product would make a big difference.
