Cracking paint 😳

I was drying my 2015 F56s after a wash and came across this. My car lives outside but I keep it waxed and always remove bird droppings as soon as I see them. What could have caused this? Will it polish out? I have polishing compounds and a griots polisher. I am accustomed to removing swirl marks and minor scratches, but I have never tried to fix something like this before. Before I attempt anything, could anyone give me some advice?

I'd go back to MINI dealer first and see what they say. Seems odd unless car was damaged previously, but I'm on paint guru.

I've owned the car since it was purchased off the lot with 9 miles on the odometer. I have never damaged the car....its weird that it's doing that.

That diagonal line looks suspicious as well if it is across the paint. If it's part of the picture taking process, never mind.

You would be surprised how many new cars have had body work performed.

Looks like bird dropping damage to me.

I've got a similar spot on the wife's F56 hardtop - right on the roof.

Meh.. that does not mean anything. Cars get damaged during shipping and delivery. Although usually they use paintless dent removal, but who knows what some unethical entity between the factory and the dealer did.. It does look like a poor bondo job though. Not saying it is.. but it does look like it.

Yes something sat on that spot for a while and was shrinking the paint.
