Bonnet stripes cleaner?

Is there something that can clean the bonnet stripes off?? There are lots of spots on mine from water and bird doo-doo and whatnot? What can i use to clean them and what can i use that keeps them clean?

I have Black Stripes

I used Mother's Chrome Polish (LIGHTLY) then a coat of Meg's Gold Class wax. Cleaned 'em rite up. Nice n' shiny. Jimbo

That's scary! Chrome polish is coarse stuff and can scratch easily. Be careful. You would NEVER use it on your paint!

I suggest a cleaner wax and swirl remover at the most aggressive if there are mars. You'll take off less ink (they are just printed vinyl).

Yeah, I would treat the stripes as if it were your girlfriend's ***.....instead of risking ruining it with something too strong go easy and gentle at first... if it responds well to the soft touch go harder untill you reach the maximum she...uh..your car....can take. That way you dont regret it later.

Scary 2 U, but...

gentle cleaning with non-abrasives failed to get my stripes a deep lusturous black, that's why I attempted it with the chrome polish VERY gently. It was the only product in my arsenal that took out those heat-embedded spots and stains from who knows where that my dealer did not get out before delivery (only noticed the spots in the daylight after I left the d'ship, and boy did they make the stripes look craptacular.)

This is the one aspect of my MINI experience I've found woefully lacking: Bonnet Stripe Care 101. Not a peep on what to do, what to do it with, or how to do it. Ask the dealer and they say a good wax, but when I said this didnt work, just a collective shoulder shrug After all, for some of us this is our first vehicle with stripes. I am thankful for these forums. Jimbo
