Apply Black Wow before washing your vehicle. Use a Poly Foam Wax Applicator and spread a pea-sized amount evenly on the trim. Apply a very thin coat. Buff off excess with a lint-free Cobra Microfiber Cloth. (Use a separate towel than the ones you use on the paint.) Then wash the vehicle and use the wash sponge to wipe down the trim. Towel dry.

Thanks for the tips. I will investigate a little more.

No problem, fun fact, this product was actually developed by a MINI enthusiast

OH-To contribute to the thread, I've been using Mothers' "Back to Black." Not the longest lasting, but hard to mess up, and easier to find than Black Wow.

+1 for 303 Aerospace Protectant. I'm on my third MINI, and I have used it on all of them. Also, if the trim is faded, I've heard (but not tried) that you can use Kiwi Shoe Dye. It comes in a bottle with a sponge applicator. Looks like shoe polish, but says "dye" on the bottle.

From their website.

Directions: For best results, thoroughly clean trim before applying Black Wow, and perform the first application before washing your car, ideally the day before. Remember, a little goes a LONG way and the best results come from letting Black Wow penetrate the plastic. Size does matter!

FOR BEST RESULTS, LET BLACK WOW ABSORB FULLY BEFORE GETTING WET (ATLEAST 1 DAY)
Apply a sesame seed sized amount to the applicator pad and massage it into your trim. You will see an immediate improvement in darkness and uniformity in tone. Continue to spread this out. More is NOT better with Black Wow. Always work with sesame seed or pea sized amounts. The final look should be matte, not glossy and wet. There is no need to let BW dry or cure but it is important for BW to absorb. For the most durability, thoroughly clean the trim of all previous products using Pre-Wow, then leave BW to absorb instead of removing any excess. Lastly, wash the next day or later. If you immediately remove any excess with a lint free towel or proceed to wash the car, BW may not have the most durability.

CAUTION: In the early days of Black Wow, we cautioned users from getting it on the paint because we knew that it would take some effort to clean it off. For some reason, people got the idea that BW was BAD for paint instead! For the record, Black Wow is safe for your paint, glass, plastic, rubber and pretty much all surfaces. To keep things clean, use our Trim Masking card or clean up with Pre-Wow.

Adams In/Out Spray.

No oily residue left to attract dirt/dust, dries to the touch and leaves black plastic on exterior and in engine bay looking like brand new.

You know I like that Adams in/out spray. I have a heck of time getting nice and even black look for the rear bumper lower closed mesh insert and front grille. Rear bumper, and rear hatch area in general collects so much dust and dirt. I've been using foam paint brush and tire gel and it takes forever.

I've used Black Wow and agree that it's a fine, long lasting product albeit a bit messy. I've also had very good results with Prima Infinity. IME it's a bit easier to apply than BW, makes the trim look great...long lasting too.

Poor Boys World and Chemical Guys both make great products. I go on Detailedimage.com to find product reviews and information on how best to detail a car.
That being said I recently started using a foam cannon to wash my R55 and it is amazing!!

I got tired of my trim looking like butt after every rain, so I prep'd my trim, and put several coats of plasti-dip on. Now, no matter how filthy my MINI is, it always looks like the trim was cleaned (never get the streaks or dullness).

Depends on the finish, but most of the time I use Klasse AIO, but some time Autohaus tire spray.
