Headlights!

I'm new around here but sort of a detailing nut. The other day I wash/waxed/clayed then used my PC7424 and Menzerna products to the Mini (pics later).

However, my headlights are hazy. There are almost 1000 products out there for various prices but I want to hear it from y'all on what works the best and what lasts the longest.

Your best bet is to wetsand them with 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000 grit sand paper. Then use a plastic polish and a plastic sealant to finish it off. It's not something you can really just polish out, especially if its starting to yellow a bit. You have to remove all of the oxidation.

Pain in the butt process, but the results are awesome.

Cripes, I'm not afraid to put a power tool to my paint but wet sanding scares the bejesus out of me for some reason. I guess I will watch about 100 videos on YouTube before I attempt it.

Any suggestions on products to use for the last couple steps?

OEM won't be cheap, and ebay will fit like crap. I'd rather restore them. :-)

I just cleaned the ones on wife's Honda with my buffer, a wool pad and some Mothers fine cut compound. Took about 5 minutes a side. Put some sealant over the top and done....

Last time around I tried a 'magic kit' ... did not look as good, took more time and lasted about 3 months.

+1. Use your PC7424 and a light compound and it'll take the haze off. I recommend using a paint sealant or wax afterwards as well, to protect them from hazing later on. Also, I know MINI's have a chrome ring around the headlights, I believe they pop right out. I'd suggest doing that before you take your buffer to the headlights.

Sorry, guys. Don't actually own a MINI yet...just learned what I know from reading the many threads on here.

Either way, you don't want to scratch them up.
