Question..

I dont think i've ever polished or put wax on any of my cars.. the front of my Cooper is looking a bit rough! Even after a car wash there is still residue that does not come off with just a regular wash, was wondering if polishing or waxing would help get that stuff off?

It appears to be road dirt, maybe some bugs etc??

You ONLY wax a CLEAN surface....
Try some BUG and TAR remover, then maybe a claybar...
Do not expect a wax to CLEAN without causing damage.

I would 2nd the claybar suggestion. That alone is good enough for most people that dont have Detailer OCD.... Its very easy to do, does not take too long, and you will be surprised just how much that little block of clay will revitalize your paint job. Then after thats done and you wash the hood back off and dry, a quick coat of wax will keep it looking good for a little while.
