Light scratch help?

Hello all - so I have my first mark on my Mini - it's a light scratch made with a fingernail done while cleaning ironically. It's not deep and hard to see even in photos since my car is light - but it still bothers me.

Is there a wax or finish I can apply to dull it out a little? My car is only 2 months old so I don't know if I want the whole thing waxed or not - but would love any to know if there are any polishes or products that anyone recommends.

Thanks all.

It really depends on what kind of scratch it is...

If it's a light scratch, you can clean it with some Dove Dish soap (to remove the layer of wax that comes with your car), clay bar it, clean it again with mild soap and water, and then wax it with layers.

I did some research on the forum and read about Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0 - went to Auto Zone and bought it and applied: worked like a charm. It was perfect for a scratch to the clear coat. Now you can't even tell there was a scratch there at all.

Scratch X was my thought as well. Works on bird droppings also. Just make sure to wax after.

What wax do you recommend - or is good for Mini's paint/finish?

Prima Swirl by hand also works great! It's a lot more flexible than Scratch X as well because you can use it by hand or machine, for polishing clear plastic, painted surfaces, polished plastics, and more. I would follow up with some Prima Hydro, Epic, or Hydro Seal. If you're looking for stuff at Autozone..NXT Tech Wax is good stuff as well.

Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0
+1 +1 +1

I always keep about 2 bottles of this on hand. I have been using this for about 2 years now. ...i use it on my cars and the wife's. I would recommend as someone else mentioned to wax after applying Scratch-X. From my experience this actually polishes down the clear coat or paint to make the scratch less severe. Opposed to filling in the scratch with some kind of filler that will wear off in time.

I also use Scratch X for other applications like plastics that get scratches, my plexi-glass aquarium, etc, ...works great!!
