Wax Painted Dash?
Wax Painted Dash?
I just bought an R52 that has the colored dash panels that match the exterior, lightening blue. They are exposed to the sun a lot being a convertible and look like they need some TLC. Since they are painted and feel like a clear coat can I use Epic and Banana Gloss on them? I had to idea how to handle painted plastic to protect them and keep them looking good when the top's down.

I don't see why not. When I first got mine, it had all kinds of black marks on it (shoe scuffs?). I used a cheap cleaner wax, and it shined up like new. I almost thought I was going to have to repaint it.
I used to work on older Mercedes with wood veneer dashes. The best way to wax the small dash pieces is by hand, with just a little wax on the tips of two fingers. You'd be amazed at how well you can control it and keep the wax off of the plastic parts nearby.
Give it a try!
