What to do with OEM Porter Cable Polishing Pads?

When I bought my Porter Cable dual action polisher a number of years ago, it came with a thick white polishing pad. I picked up a couple more to allow me to use different products without having to immediately clean out the original pad. Is use of these OEM pads problematic? If so, why? And if not, what are they best used for?

Thx.

Alan

I just ordered a PC and was wondering the same thing. Actually, OctaneGuy was out of the LC white pads, so I thought I'd make do with the one that came with the PC until he got some more in...

Hopefully this won't be a bad decision???

My guess at this point is that the PC pads are best used with non-abrasive products like glazes or waxes. My logic for this is that the pads are quite firm, and thus unyielding when encountering ridges or other prominent features in bodywork. With an abrasive polish or cutting compound you might end up taking too much paint off these areas. For flat areas, I doubt it matters one way or the other.

BTW - with due respect to Octane Guy, there are other suppliers of the LC pads.
