My year old IB/W, which sleeps outside all the time, came with some minor micro-scratches, but, due to the wrong microfiber or a worn out duster (if there is such a thing) it has picked up more. It still isn't bad, but I want to intervene at some point to minimize or undo the problem.

Question....does Z5 indeed fill in micro-scratches as the Zaino web site indicates? I can always pursue a more invasive (swirl-remover) direction, but if Z5 really works, I'll try it (....and probably go Zaino all the way). Anybody got any experiences/thoughts on this? Most auto finishing FAQs advise to go straight for the buffer and offer few other options.

I have applied a few coats of Z5 in my MINIs. It is an excellent car polish but do keep in mind that Z5 only "fills" minor scratches and swirl marks...it does not actually removes them, so it is likely that in time you will see them again.

Before reaching out for that buffer, I highly recommend a couple of products that have worked for me in the past to remove, not cover up, fine swirl marks and scratches:

1) Meguiar's "Scratch X" (Can get it anywhere for about $7-$8 a tube)
2) Zymol Cleaning wax (Pricey stuff, retails for about $20 at your local autoparts store)

Also 3M's swirl/scratch remover works well but prefer the Meguiar's product as it doesn't leave more scratches than it takes out.
