New Prima Products??

I was surfing autogeek.net while watching the sequel to 30 days of night, and I came across a new set of Prima products that I have not seen on any other site.

Prima Hydro Wash Shampoo
Prima Hydro seal paint sealant

Heather, Nick Are these your products?

Yes they are avail, we've even used them, and they work great.

We will have them on the site by Monday.

Hydro Wash is Prima's new non polymer soap that complements Hydro Seal which is a wax that offers the durability of Epic with the ease of application of Hydro.

1. You wash the paint with a non polymer soap like Hydro Wash.
2. Instead of drying it, you take a plush microfiber towel, soak it in water, wring it out, squirt some creamy Hydro Seal into it and wipe the car down in sections. It disappears quickly and a quick buff with another dry microfiber towel ensures it's dry. Do the whole car this way.

No waiting for the wax to haze, and it goes over all smooth surfaces. I like it a lot and it's gonna be a homerun!

These new products look very interesting to me. 2 questions:

1. Do you use Banana Gloss with this?

2. How does it look on dark paint?

After Hydro Seal, you can use any wax to top it including BG or Hydro.

HS looks great, just like Epic on dark paint..rich deep glossy. All polymer waxes can exhibit some minor artifacting during the polymer cross linking stage, but it goes away after 24 hours. I'm sure you weren't asking about though, lol.

Hydro Seals biggest benefit is the effort to longevity ratio. Most of Prima products have been such that, the less effort you put in, the less durability. HS changes that.

Interesting. I need to refill my Mystique and may want to try this new system.

How is Hydro Seal on the black plastic trim? Do I need to mask it off at all? This would obviously be difficult on a wet car...

No problem on plastic or glass. No you don't need to mask anything off. You can't use Mystique before Hydro Seal..they are not compatible. That's why they came out with Hydro Wash which is a non polymer soap. You can use Mystique after you've done the Hydro Seal however, just not before.

How often would you use this and how does it compare to doing a full detail with say Epic twice a year? Interested but need to understand how it fits, or replaces, current method of detailing. Is this something I would use say at the 3 month mark in between the application of Epic? Would this replace using Epic completely?

I use hydro for every wash, Banana Gloss about once a month, and Epic/ clay bar technique with a porter cable every 6 months. Just trying to understand how this fully fits in.

Btw, want to direct this towards Heather. I love the products and use Nourish on the leather surfaces of our vehicles. Currently I use another brand leather/ interior cleaner. Have you guys consided coming out with such a product yourselves? Just a thought.

You won't have any luck talking to Heather or Nick here, they were banned some time ago.

However they always answer emails.

Banned? Really?

That is too bad Heather was always super helpful in resolving problems.

By the way, I just tried the new Hydro Seal. This stuff is awesome! So easy to put on, and it looks fantastic. Just finished the Mini, thinking about going out and doing the spitfire now.

I guess I am done with Banana Gloss. Now I just need to see how it lasts.

Hydro Seal lasts the same as Epic, 4 to 6 months though I believe Prima says it will last even longer. Hydro Seal is another wax option like Hydro, Banana Gloss, and Epic. It can replace Epic if desired. Essentially, it's a much more friendly to use version of Epic. I like to use a machine to apply Epic for best uniformity, but not everyone has a machine. Epic can be applied by hand with perfect results as well, it's up to you, but Hydro Seal will do it faster and easier.

re: Leather Cleaners
I've had this discussion with Heather and Nick as well and they haven't come up with a satisfactory solution yet. In the mean time, I've been using 4 different solutions, a Wagner steamer, an APC, Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer, or Leatherique's Prestine Clean. The steamer has become my favorite, no chemical method for cleaning all fabrics and at $89, isn't super expensive.

They were banned after they stopped advertising. Just like if I stop advertising, I will likely be banned as well even though I started on NAM not as a vendor.

I pass on all inquiries to Heather and Nick since I speak to them daily.

Thanks OG. I just did a search and saw some comments you had written a while ago, about the vendor thing. Seems pretty silly to me, but I don't own the site.

BTW, I just used your pre-wow on some leftover wax on my Range Rover this morning. It works great. Wax buildup gone. Any chance you will be offering it in a slightly larger bottle?

Great about the PW. Yes, there has been growing interest in a larger bottle I can't guarantee it, but it's something I am considering.

Hydro Seal looks awesome. Now I just have to get rid of the rest of this 99% full bottle of Epic so I can justify buying some.

epic and/or banana gloss would look good over the hydro seal, right? Or should I stick with Hydro after each wash for best results?

Should Hydro Wash only be used when wanting to start over? Meaning, will it remive hydro seal and whatever waxes are applied over it?
