Touch-up paint matching questions.

OK...I've tried to understand what is going on with detailing my mini. However, I need to know if I buy touch up paint that matches my color, however exact, after all the years of being in the elements, will it still match? Or is there something else I need to buy to bring the original color back to life?
I plan on purchasing the Prima products as well.

Also, a little help. Please define PC.

Is there a reasonably priced buffer available?

Do I even need one while using the Prima products? And if so, how often is needed to maintain a great look?

What specific products are needed to maintain the great look?

I got somethings

I now know what a PC is, plus prices. I also think I got what products are needed.

Paint question still remains.

2nd. how does Hydro affect glass? Can I use it on glass?

What color is your MINI, some colors fade a little worse than others, yellow being on top of the list, otherwise I wouldn't worry too much about mismatch color, remember it's "touch-up" but with a little patience your results will surprise you.

Red traditionally has been a color that fades. As docv said, it is touchup, and will look better than the chips if done right. If you are looking for perfection, IMHO, re-spraying the bonnet is your best bet.

Red is one of the best colors to touch up, dont think you will have any problems with color match, I would how ever buff it out before doing the touch up, apply the paint then buff again about a week later.

FWIW, the factory touchup colors are hit and miss. I touched up a 2011 Chili Red MINI at AMVIV 8 using a customer supplied touchup and the paint clearly didn't not match. Although hard to tell from this photo, I was able to get the surface to closely match the original through wetsanding and polishing, but because of the miscolor, the repair stood out a great deal though it was a 100% improvement over the dealer touchup blobs.
