OctaneGuy: Complete 2008 Honda S2000 Restore
This Honda S2000 looked pretty good from afar. The paint was cleaned with Meguiar's HyperWash and C2000 clay.
The paint was polishing using Prima Swirl and Prima Amigo and waxed with Prima Epic. You can find these products at my store at www.ShowCarSupplies.com
Water used was produced using my new shop water distiller fed from a Reverse Osmosis filtering system. The raw water begins at 400ppm from the tap, and goes down to 30ppm after the RO process, and once through the water distiller, is 0ppm. The process boils the water, captures the steam, and transfers it to a 60 gallon holding tank.

But upon closer inspection in the sunlight it's obvious it needs some help

Inside the shop, I wash the paint using my shop generated distilled water using my Nomad Pressure Washer. I had a Kranzle 2000psi pressure washer on order that arrived later that day but too late for this job.

After washing with Meguiar's HyperWash and drying the paint, I proceeded to clay with Meguiar's C2000 clay. I used HyperWash because this was a production wash and I needed the strongest cleaning power instead of beautifying agents found in Prima Mystique that I would use for a maintenance wash.

On my Atlas TD6MR lift

On my lift, the wheels are easy to clean

I started off my polishing tests with a 7424XP and a Flex VRG3401 and wasn't getting the results I desired

The paint on the S2000 is sticky after polishing, so I sprayed it with Prima Slick to make wiping the polishing residue easier.

Another polishing with the Flex I wanted to see if it looked better with a PC

But nope, the best results came with my rotary buffer

This is the result I'm seeking

But looking closer, it still needs more work

The lift lets me polish without hurting my back

After 14 hours of polishing, final polishing

Looking great!

My Kranzle showed up finally

Due to rain and clouds, I wasn't able to get any daylight shots but the owner sent me an email about a week later saying
"Took the S2000 out in daylight for the 1st time today since you worked on it last Tuesday. Absolutely stunning! Truly."

Very cool. Do you just pull the tarp away after for a dry floor then?
I use a Nomad in my (apartment style) garage, and also have a giant tarp, but have just been too lazy to lay it out lol.

I did when I was done, but I've now got a wash/prep area and a detail area on the lift, so I don't really have to. The tarp is being used to contain the water because as you can see in the pix, my shop was very crowded with boxes and junk. But I have since totally cleaned all of that so there is plenty of space all around now. I basically want to use the tarp to contain the water so I can vacuum up the water and dispose of it instead of sweeping it outside. I've got a hot water extractor that would work well for sucking up the standing water once it's contained.
