OctaneGuy: Free Prima Detailing Clinic Thousand Oaks

Hey OCDers!! I just wanted to get the word out that I will be holding a joint event with Scott over at Motoring Magic on Saturday November 13. Would love to get as many MINIs and BMWs out there as possible. Mark your calendars. The event is free.

I will be packing my Clubbie with as much shop gear as I can which will include machine polishers to use, Prima products to demo, Black Wow and PreWow and whatever else I can think of! Bring cash for some unheard of specials!

Motoring Magic
3170 Los Feliz Drive
Thousand Oaks, CA 91362
805-496-2300

10AM to 3PM (or possibly later)
Saturday November 13, 2010.

Haha, that thought occurred to me when I posted this...so I left the phone number. As soon as I know, I'll edit it.

octaneguy -- thanks for setting this up.
i might be able to run up to join you on this 00 if so i'll bring my portercable 7424 and some stuff.

been spending time on the mechanics of the car, but the aesthetics are really overdue for some attention.

We have some pretty good deatiling related events going on in our neck of the woods too. We just don't have access to the OG discounts and stuff, we do have Prima though.

The clinic will begin from 10am and last probably till 3pm. We shall do demos on a first come/first serve basis, so those that arrive later may or may not have their cars worked on, depending on available space.

Hope to see you there!

The event was a fantastic success. We are planning on repeating this in the spring.

Here is my lovely assistant!

The participants were comfortably seated

Using my 3M Sun Gun, I evaluated the paint in front of them.

Answered some questions from the owner in black with the white cap.

Then got the participants blood flowing by having them relocate behind the car.

Participants listened intently

Oh, man.....I had a previous engagement that I was trying to get out of but didn't work out that.

But luckily I made up for it, I sent my friend and his dad to your event. They were glad to have stopped by but wished they could have stayed for the entire show. In fact, the black Mini with the driving lights in the pic was his.

I heard it was also a pretty good turn-out of not just Mini's but other types of cars. I missed some pretty good pizza's and refreshments too!!

Hmm.....another event next year already in the works. Nice!!

Ohhh ok! The pizzas were awesome! Thanks for sending out your friend.

Here are some more pix from the event.

Performing a test on this old classic. After several passes the results were spectacular.

Then I had the owner do another spot. He was very afraid of the polisher but after the clinic, he was ready to polish like a pro! Here I am holding on to the end to show him the right speed to move the buffer.

Soon enough he was all on his own

The owner is looking pretty confident, I don't see any fear in his eyes!

Inspecting the results! He was very pleased!

Demoing PreWow on a car that was detailed by a dealership cause their "free car wash" swirled out the paint, and they left wax/polish residue on all the trim.

Applying Black Wow as the owner looks on
