OctaneGuy Express Detail: BMW 325i Wagon
OctaneGuy Express Detail: BMW 325i Wagon
It all started with a call from a MINI owner who wanted to know if I could help clean the family wagon. The car has been living outside and there were tons of dried leaves that need to be washed away. I used my air compressor to get the ones deep in the engine bay and in the crevices.

8 hours later after pickup with the wife and 2 kids, everybody thought the car was brand new again. I had them feeling the paint, and they commented how "soft" and smooth it felt. Thanks to claying it with the Meguiar's C2000 clay.
Just to give some clarification to this writeup and my service being provided, the OctaneGuy Express Detail performs the following services:
1. Entire car is washed and cleaned, then claybarred until the paint is absolutely smooth with no bonded contaminants.
2. Every exterior painted surface from door jambs, to exposed hinges, to the engine bay, under the hood is cleaned of grease and cosmoline. The plastics are all cleaned and dressed.
3. Grease in the key hole is removed.
4. Wheels are cleaned of brake dust and protected.
5. Tires are cleaned and dressed
6. Exterior plastic and metals are cleaned and dressed
7. Exterior paint is machine polished and protected with Prima Epic, a synthetic polymer sealent. Swirls are reduced by atleast 50% or more. Visible scratches are removed or touched up (as long as factory touchup is provided to me). Paint transfers are removed. No buffer swirls are induced or masked.
8. The interior is vacuumed, and shampooed or extracted as necessary. Everything is wiped down to retain a natural matte finish, no shiny/sticky Armorall stuff here. Carpets are vacuumed and deodorized. Gauges, dashes, etc.. are wiped of dust and protected. An air compressor is used to blow dust out of the crevices. Anything that needs to be cleaned or conditioned is performed.
9. The glass is cleaned inside and out using Prima Clarity. Final dressings and touchups are performed, then the car is photographed.
The difference between my Express Detail and the Complete is in the amount of time spent polishing and removing swirls. The effective end result is a car that looks spectacular!
Ok so back to the writeup.
Front wheels

Rear Wheels aren't as bad

The gloss is still there.

The exterior trim is in pretty bad shape

Overall not bad from 10 feet away

The other front wheel

Swirls aren't that visible under the sunlight

This reflection could be more crisp

Engine bay

Under the hood

Ok engine bay has been detailed

And under the hood too!

Check out the faded exterior trim now!

Wiper arms cleaned with PreWow

Tires dressed with Meguiar's Insane Shine...still wet here.

The Cowling is cleaned and dressed

The roof rails were also cleaned with PW

These areas of the windows were cleaned and improved with PW

Rubber seals were treated with PW

Before polishing

After polishing

This cargo tray needed help

I hosed it off and let it dry in the sun but still lots of stuff remained

PreWow and a toothbrush cleaned them right up

Ok put back in the car after vacuuming. I lifted removable panels all the way into the spare tire well and vacuumed as well.

PW used here

I put my CosmoNot in a little spray bottle and cleaned the key hole

Ok 8 hours later and it's getting dark outside. Using available light with my Nikon D70s.

When the customer came to pick up the car, I pulled back inside the shop under the full lighting to give them a tour of what I did and they loved it! Their Chili Red MCS is coming next!
