Epic Saves the Day AGAIN!!
Epic Saves the Day AGAIN!!
ShowCarDetailing/ShowCarSupplies is the longest selling Prima dealer on NAM with the most Prima experience. Nobody can match the support before or after your purchase as we've consistently done for the past 3 years. We appreciate your continued support.
The technique demonstrated here may not work on all paint types, so using Epic instead of Swirl may not always give the best results, but as you can see, it worked great for this SUV.
Here's the story.
NAMer, Felix from NYC, visited my shop here in sunny Anaheim, California this past week and we worked on his girlfriend's cousins' SUV. We tested the difference between an LC Orange pad and the 7424XP with Swirl versus Epic. The results were marginally better with Swirl, so we opted to go with Epic as an All In One.
Let's compare the before and after (5 hours later)

What was the process???
We rinsed off the paint, then washed with ONR (Optimum No Rinse).
The car lives outside, so the paint was extremely contaminated. Every surface was claybarred with Meguiar's C2000 clay.
We used Last Touch as the QD Lube.
Next we did a test spot to determine whether an LC Orange pad and Swirl gave marginally better results than an LC Orange pad and Epic. Turned out the Epic looks nearly as good and since it would save a waxing step, we decided that this was the way to go.
Let's look at the ugly Before shots

Compare to how it looked 5 hours later!!!

The roof metal cross bars were cleaned up with Pre Wow. The windshield cowling and wipers were also cleaned with Pre Wow and finished with Black Wow. Clarity was used on the glass. Severe water spots were cleaned up with Swirl, orange pad, and the PC.

Note all shipping calculations are manually checked and if we can save you money by going Flat Rate Priority or if you choose FedEx but we know that 1st Class will get there faster and cheaper, we immediately refund the difference without you needing to even ask about it.

Richard what did you do for this part
End result looks great. Is that Meguires C2000 clay considered mild or a medium course clay? Just curious how it would compare to the off-the-shelf Meguire's clay?

Haha, that's beyond what I can do as a detailer. That needs paint.
The Meguiar's C2000 clay is mild versus their aggressive red clay. It's about twice as aggressive as the consumer grey clay, but it's still mild. Their aggressive clay will haze up any surface you use it on. The mild has no effect on most cars.
