Exterior/Interior - Use WHAT?

Is that some sort of seal that is running around the top of the roof all the way around? Its black, above the glass, but under the white roof. Should I just use a UV blocker? Ditto for the rubber flashing above the plastic platform the front wipers sit on.

Also, my steering wheel, the actual horn button, has some sort of mark or smudge. Was delivered that way. It seems like that paint is soft-touch or flat....how would you clean that without making it peel or flake?

Thanks!

BW is your answer for the plastic trims.

for your horn button almost sounds like you need to polish it using some mild polish like ScratchX on a foam pad.

What is "BW" - is that a brand or a specific product?

Thanks for the reply!

BW aka Black Wow is a product that I invented and was developed and tested here in the MINI community on NAM. Search Black Wow or Octane's Stuff Gel for history.

Otherwise, just go to www.blackwow.com for more info.

Outmotoring.com is our latest retailer and is also a NAM sponsor. Way Motorworks and MINIMania are also dealers. Check out the Where to Buy list on the BW site.

For your interior bits, Prima Nero is fantastic. But for all exterior plastic, BW is "the stuff".

Wow! The BlackWow stuff looks pretty good. I have an 01 Jeep Wrangler that needs severe help on the fender trims.

The BW has a UV protectant, right? Its safe for use on plastic obviously. But what about rubber parts like door seals? I heard silicon based products aren't the way to go for rubber. Or am I crazy?

Yep, Jeeps are prime candidates.

Yep, it has a UV protectant and of course it's safe for plastic. You can talk to the thousands of NAMers who have been using it for the past 3 years. BW wasn't intended for rubber. I don't recommend it for anything but a show car that never gets washed or driven much. Rubber tends to be too porous and BW tends to get kicked out after the first wash.

As far as the silicone myth goes...it's the solvents that are used to dilute silicone into a sprayable form that's bad. BW is nearly 100% silicone which is why it has a higher price than other products that are mostly solvents with silicone.
