@LadyGodiva: You're very welcome. If it wasn't just the Clubbie that was available in HC, I would have had a harder decision.

@lotsie: Oh, good point (I completely believe it)! You're very welcome too.

I just couldn't hold out any longer! Thanks to your photos and raves , I purchased an assortment of Prima sample sizes tonight. That, and my Zep Wash jug is nearly empty.

Sounds like I'll be buying Prima by the gallon soon enough...

No polishes this time around. My car is still a little young for an exfoliation treatment. Plus, I'll need to get some training before I feel confident using that stuff.

Can't wait to give it a try!

Just wanted to add my Prima experience here...

I'm an absolute neat freak about keeping my cars clean, and when I got the MINI I knew this would be no different (if not worse than before)...after reading multiple posts in the Detailing 101 thread, I ordered some Prima stuff from Brilex Solutions (it came overnight!), and I started my detailing.

I spent a total of an hour and 1/2 last night, from washing, drying with Hydro, detailing the tough stuff with Slick, then Banana Glossing the whole car, and then windows and interior bits with Clarity, then wheels (that I had previously Banana Glossed - dust comes off so much easier now)...I am amazed at how quickly I was able to do all this, and I wasn't really rushing either! Hydro is just a miracle cure for drying a car, and Clarity is fantastic - streaky windows used to be the bane of my existence - not anymore! (I even use it in the house on windows, mirrors, and the TV)...

Rarely does a product live up to the hype, but the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for" - I'm a Prima guy for life!

@markfm: You'll be ordering the gallons soon enough. Be sure to let us know how you like the products!

@Atomic17: It's so great to hear from others that just started using Prima, too (and you can't beat Brilex Solutions' service!). I'll have to agree with you, the Hydro really is amazing. I think in my next order I'm going to grab some BG, Clarity, and Nero. So did you just Hydro the entire car and then apply the BG? Do you let it dry or buff it out? Hope you don't mind the questions.

If you mean Hydro, after I spray it on a wet car, I wipe the car almost dry, then hand buff with a monster fluffy. With BG, you let it dry, then hand buff. By the time you get the whole car covered, with a very thin layer, the area were you started will be ready for buffing, takes about 1/2 an hour from start to finish.

Nope, I meant the BG. Thank you. I'm new to 'real' waxing and have only used spray waxes (and Hydro) in the past.

I sprayed the Hydro on the car when it was still wet, then dried the whole car with a large fluffy microfiber towel (almost bathtowel sized) - only needed 1 to do the whole car.

Then I hit the tough spots (some roadspray on the lower front part of the doors) and bugs on the hood with Slick QD.

THEN I went over the whole dried car with the Banana Gloss. I did it section by section, hood first, then worked my way around the car. I let it dry to a haze, then buffed it out with a regular microfiber towel (small one). I didn't have to buff hard at all, it was almost like wiping the Clarity on the glass. In hindsight it may have been overkill, but from what I read in the descriptions of each product on Brilex's and Detailers Paradise's sites, it didn't hurt anything.

And soon I'll be getting Epic, to give it a more protective coat of wax. If I could have a bubble around my car the whole time it's out of the garage I would, but it seems Prima Care products are the next best thing.

I'm going to take some pics tonight and I'll post one later for evidence...

Hope that helps!

Ok, here's some pics after my detail from above - you can see how well Banana Gloss reflects...granted, I have non-metallic paint, so a metallic would reflect much better, but still, I'm pretty happy with the results!

looks good. i think i would blot dry the car, do BG first,
then Hydro on the next wash. probably even better
adhesion.

You don't need metallic paint to reflect !!

Oh wow. Thanks for the all of the details! You made applying the BG a lot less scary; seems simple enough. I'm definitely going to pick some up now. Your car looks amazing in those pictures (and I love Oxygen Blue).

Now I can't decide whether to apply the BG after just a wash or after Hydro'ing.

@CR&PW&JB: That first CR picture is beautiful and that last reflection in the JB is just.. WOW!
