That happens when you limit yourself to one kind of product and think that all products perform the same under those circumstances. Car wash soap, or the water left on a wet freshly washed car work well for experienced detailers, i.e. the ones that know which types of clay break down and which ones won't.

Meguiar's C2000 clay works great with water or QD or my favorite, Last Touch diluted to 3:1.

It's best to use the lube that works well for your favorite clay.

Thus my suggestion to use a QD so you don't have to worry about what to use for which clay bar.
