A Miracle??

ShamWow - anyone here ever try one? If it works as advertised it would dry all the cars on the block before needing to be wrung out.

The commercial looks fishy. When he's using it to absorb the soda in the carpet, then lifts up the small piece of carpet to show it's dry, there are specs of bone-dry carpet/dust underneath, making it pretty obvious that shot was taken prior to him spilling the soda.

Good and bad reviews online. me? I'll stick with some microfibers from DP and costco (although the costco ones leave some barely noticeable lint on windows.)

+1. It may work fine as far as absorbing, but so does a normal natural or synthetic chamois (just don't drag it around your paint). I'm sticking with my DP & Griot's MFs

I just use an old dirty towel that doubles as my dogs bed.

Wait you've seen the shamwow commercial and still want one? That's one of the worst as seen on tv type ads in a long time.

It should be called a scamwow.

The Shamwow commercial is a work of art, but I think back to watching Fight Back! as a child and recall those sage words...If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I agree it is very fishy. If you watch when the soda is poured on the carpet it goes through the carpet and spreads out on the counter in front of the carpet. Next take when he is starting to soak it up there is NO soda on the counter in front of the carpet.

My aunt bought some Shamwow's and gave me a couple for detailing my car. They suck. I used one for all of five minutes and then ran out and got out my microfiber towels.

You forgot about about being made in Germany, not being sold in stores, and that you should be aware of imitators!!!!

As an informed buyer, one of the funniest things to watch are the clips on YouTube from Billy Mays with the out takes where he demonstrates how great the products are but they keep breaking in front of the camera..at one point calling them crap. Any product that can be demonstrated and appears to have high value though made at the cheapest price is fit for an infomercial. Don't believe what you see just because it's on TV.

As for ShamWow? I'm glad that I didn't know about them before I started selling BW, lol.

And a product the first syllable of which is SHAM..?

And as for Billy Mays: Can't they find someone whose voice doesn't sound like an over excited six year old screaming across the playground?

Even if they were selling a great product, I wouldn't buy it because the commercials are so annoying.

You see these booths set up at every car show, motor cycle show, state fair - they're everywhere!

And invariably you'll see folks walking around with a roll of these things under their arms.

Me included..............

I bit once, took them home and tried them, total crap and a waste of money. Mine were "Made in Germany" too.............

Oh well, it was a long time ago, I was a lot younger and less cynical then.

And exactly WHO annointed Billy Mays as the only one to sell crap on TV?
