Mini Paint Hardness

OG had mentioned that different manufacturer's paint differ in their hardness. In other words, you might need a more aggressive swirl remover for harder paint. My question is, how hard is Mini paint? Has anyone found a need to go Cut/Yellow pad on a newer model(2nd gen)? Or what combination do you often use?

Depends.

Sorry, had to say that. It depends on what you are trying to fix/accomplish. I just finished detailing our new Clubman, it has about 7000 mile on it, that the sales staff at the dealer had put on it. It had some slight swirls, a couple of scratches, and some stains on it.

Foe the minor swirls, Amigo with a white pad worked. For the stains, Amigo with a orange pad, followed with a white pad. Swirl with an orange pad for all but one of the scratches, that I used Cut with a white pad.

The basic rule of thumb is to use the least abrasive product/pad combo first, then work your way to more aggressive combos. I tend to go with a more aggressive polish first, and if that does not work, a more aggressive pad with the less aggressive polish, and so on. I'm sure there is a "proper" formula for the right sequence, but that's how I do it.

My experience was the mini's paint is hard. But softer on the plastic panels. Go by lotsie's advice just to be safe.
