I have a bit of both as well. Well actually, I have essentially the entire Prima line, and then a handful of Griot's things that I specifically like (Interior Cleaner, Rubber Cleaner, Engine Degreaser, Engine Gloss, and MF wash pads). I've been down the path with Griot's actual finish products but like the results of the Prima stuff better...but I like shiny

sounds like you're a good candidate to try the Griot's MF
waffleweave where you can place your hand into the pouch.

Just a note on cold weather washing for all you wimps. I inherited a lovely disease from my mother and can't hardly be outside in the cold without my fingers getting numb. I have a box of nitrile gloves - keep a bag of them with my detailing supplies. Put on on my wash mitt hand, then don a mitt. When you stay dry, you stay warm, especially when you use warm wash water. This is especially good for my quick rub downs at the quarter wash where I hose him off, dump "good" soap (Z-7 in my case) on him, and suds him up with some mitt rinses thrown in. In the end, hang the mitt up on the wall and hose it down after the car and you're good to go. Even moreso of you can get some of the car dry before it freezes. Focus on doorseals.

And I also mix my detailing products, but haven't tried Griots. I like a lot of Zaino and some Prima.

I use Zaino and Prima with some Wizards tossed in for good measure. I'm not a Griots fan ever since I tried their Undercarriage spray. The stuff is pure crap, like road-dirt collection goo - gross! I had a bottle of SpeedShine and used it once - could not figure out what all the rave was about - streaked and was a PITA to get the over-spray smear off the glass. I got a $100 gift certificate and picked up a few tools and garage accessories that were over-priced and really not that great. So I'm done trying Griots for sure.

But is it SHINY ?? Don't tease me with a product called Engine GLOSS.

I use Simple Green in the engine bay. Spray it on before I wash the car. When I'm done washing, rinse it off. For stubborn spots, I go at it with another shot of Simple Green and a toothbrush (an old one, not the one I'm going to use before bedtime).

What is the point of selling or in this case buying an undercarriage spray and not expect it to collect road debris? first why are you spraying your undercarriage?? and secondly is this a cleaner or an aestetics because its probably some oil based product meant to make things "shiny" or give a "wet-look" (don't you hate that phrase? ) so you know crap is gonna get stuck to it. No one's looking at your undercarriage anyways. Either way thanks for the input.

And yeah he did say that the speedshine got all over his glass which I thought was a QD?? no? He never said he sprayed Speedshine on his undercarriage. I can understand how maybe the QD would get on your glass although its never happened to me.

Ruh-Roh. I know what that means. You're going to give the engine a triple cleaning with Engine Gloss. It'll be so bright, pilots will mistake your engine for landing lights and you'll end up with a 747 in your driveway.

I used the Undercarriage spray on the CR-V. It is in fact just an oil - silicone based I believe. Made such a mess I did only half the wheel wells. I thought it would be an easy way to keep the black plastic wheel wells black, but it is just awful. Went back to using Black Wow and Wizards - a little more manual, but far superior process. Doesn't everybody clean the under side of their vehicles?
Speedshine is supposed to be used as QD. I used it when the paint was in the sun just like I usually do with Slick and it streaked big time. Must be the carnauba in it, so it is off my list. And I did get some over spray on the driver's side window and it smeared and would not wipe off. I had to break out the Clarity and the glass cloth to get it gone.

No, it means that I'm in Seattle, the Engine Gloss is at home, and I'm not gonna be there for a few more days

Silly
