Ryobi P430 Car Buffer?

Hi all,

The amount of expertise and advise on this board is staggering...

I've got a Cooper S Clubman coming soon, and am contemplating trying the Prima products. I also have several Ryobi One+ rechargable tools, and noticed that there is a random orbital buffer (#P430) that is a part of the One+ system.

Any thoughts on this unit? I realize you get what you pay for vs. a Porter-Cable, but would this be better than trying to apply Epic by hand?

Your feedback is appreciated in advance!

i think you'll be the first to try the Ryobi random orbital!

(unless OG already tried it on his fridge or something... )

I have the Ryobi One + system also. I like it for the money it cost me, it was on sale when I got it. I don't know anything about the buffer, but one thought is that because it would need to run constantly, you would be going through a lot of batteries. If you bought the buffer, and a couple more batteries so you could do a whole car, you would have spent almost the same amount of money as just getting a dedicated corded buffer.

The other issue with the batteries running down, is that the speed of the buffer would be constantly decreasing, and that is not a good thing.

But like I said, the system does work fine, and it is handy.

Yeah... run time would be my concern... if you spend a whole day doing a perfect polish job, that would take a lot of power... Hard to believe it would have as much power and the corded PC also... but maybe...

How much "runtime" is required when waxing a MINI? When all you OCD owners are detailing with a RO buffer, how long is it going for?

Sorry... newb.

on my griot's RO, i could go for hours (4-5) when polishing... and maybe
10-12min for applying wax.
