Newbie Prima product question...

I am about to jump into the Prima scene with a purchase of Swirl and Amigo. My question is, after Amigo is applied, can I apply my favorite carnauba LSP? Or do I have to use Epic?

And can I use a Velcro backing plate to use Prima's (LC) pads?

You can use whatever you want. Epic, being a "polymer" will outlast the carnuba. I often top coat with a carnuba before showing for that higher gloss finish.

Outlast, shmoutlast Carnauba > Polymer as far as depth of color goes (in my not so humble opinion).

Thanks for the response though, that is good to know. Do you know anything about the backing plate forthe PC?

As Amigo is polymer-based, yes, you can go straight to a carnauba.

However, if you want a more durable protective layer underneath your carnauba (read: still get your deep, rich carnauba look yet have significant protection underneath), then I would suggest Amigo, then Epic, then your carnauba.

If that sounds like a lot of products and/or steps, keep in mind that Amigo and Epic go on and off very quickly and it only takes about 1-1.5 oz per application of each.

Or, if you just want to do Amigo then your carnauba, then that will work fine too!

Our backing plates have the "rough" side of hook and loop (aka Velcro, but we're not really allowed to say Velcro because it's a brand name! ).

Likewise, our LC pads have the "soft" side of hook and loop (aka Velcro).

So, if you already have a hook and loop backing plate, then yes, our pads will stick right to it!

Thanks for the clarification on the hook and loop/Velcro thing Heather.

I think I'll pass on the Epic this time. A few summers ago I used to detail cars so I am no stranger to long days of multistep detailing. From what I've seen Zymol Carbon lasts pretty long with two coats. I may end up picking up Epic in the future though.

Thanks for the help!

Is a finer polish like Amigo required after using Swirl with a PC, or is Swirl fine enough to apply Epic as the next step?
