Anyone know what the paint code info for the black on the roof of the MINI is?

Well, if it's anything like the body colors, it depends on your model year and even then, there can be different codes.

My dealership told me you have to have the last 6 digits of your VIN to get the correct paint code because there are so many variations of each color.

I found that odd, but that's what they say.

 

Actually, it's the last 7 digits. I tried to look it up without a VIN, couldn't find it.

 

My understanding is the roof color is Jet Black (nonmetallic). This old thread lists paint codes: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ead.php?t=2642

According to this, the jet black paint code is: BMW code = 668, Dupont Code = P1306

This page http://martinlewis.co.uk/ml/mini-paint-colour-codes/ (last line) also confirms the BMW code, and says it is the roof color.

 

Jet Black would make sense. I also show a Jet Black II, with the same paint code of 668
