Impressed with Black Wow
Applied Black Wow to all my exterior trim early last September during my fall detailing. Was able to wash the car several times over the next month or so until the weather turned cold. Was finally able to wash off about 2 months worth of winter crud yesterday (60F in Chicago in January!!!) and the water on the trim was still beading up nicely.
I have not, to this point, tried another product on plastic trim that has lasted this long.

I got it here:

$24.95 with a microfiber towel that passes the CD test and two meguirs pads
Shipping was fast and can be tracked just by using your email address on their site and the packaging was some of the best I have seen in some time.
Heed the warning about using too much. This stuff is amazing and smells good enough to eat

im starting to notice after a while, black wow seems to wash off revealing what looks like wax that i thought i had wiped off. My last application was quite a while ago and its been raining a very good amount the past week so im not unsatisfied.
Anyway, the rain storm has subsided for now and i think im going to wash and hydro/BW the car tomorrow before school starts!

For BW to last it's longest, you need good prep. If you had wax on your trim, and it didn't come off during application, then you didn't work it out enough. Removing wax on the trim will turn your applicator black. The applicator does need some bite though--that's why the microfiber skinny pads are great--because they are lint free and have a sewn edge to help work out wax residue. Foam pads aren't really aggressive enough to work out wax. A shop rag will also work, but be forewarned the red lint could cause some application issues.
The amount of cleaners in BW is small. You need to use more BW to take advantage of it's cleaning ability--although for regular dressing use, you want to use the least amount of BW.
Sounds like you just hid the residue during application. Next time try a more aggressive applicator and apply more BW to clean it.

Richard, I tried BW for the first time ever yesterday in my '05 R53 S exterior black trim.......WOW! Truly amazing! The car looks like I just picked it up from the dealer (It is 3 years old, 37K + miles). I didn't have that much wax to begin with, but the wheel arches looked dull. Once BW was applied, as per instructions on bottle and card, the trim came back to life. I am a convert! Will never use anything else for the exterior trim. I even went as far as applying a very tiny amount of BW on my dulled wiper arms...... Perhaps you don't approve the use of BW there but even the wiper arms came back to life...totally black again! (Its holding up good so far). Did I mention that BW smells great and doesn't have the greasy properties of other products in the market? Here in South Florida, UV ray exposure is a huge problem and I am confident BW will effectively help protect my exterior plastic trim in this hot environment. Great product Richard! I think you have scored yourself a huge homerun. I wish much success with it and seriously look forward to other detailing products you may have coming down the pipeline.

That's awesome! Thanks for the review and the kind words. Actually I like using BW on the wiper arms too! It does improve the look considerably. BW offers excellent UV protection.
Thanks!!

Richard,
I just tried your sample I got from another forum and from reading the reviews here and trying it on the black trim on various cars, I have to get more of it. This is the best thing since sliced bread!
One tip I might add is washing the parts first with a Dawn mix to remove any grime or whatever and then using an eraser to gently remove those leftover stubborn wax deposits.

Hey that's great to hear! There's a bunch of places you can buy it from, check out the www.black-wow.com site for the list of retailers nearest you.
re: Dawn
Good tip. Proper prep is an important part of detailing anything, and it's especially true when using BW.
Since the Trim Masking cards have become available, getting it on the paint is a thing of the past...unless you don't use it,

The plastic on this year old M6 is similar or the same as our seatbacks.

Absolutely it will bring it back. Look at this Jeep Liberty--the plastic isn't black, but you can see how much it improves it.

Here's another Jeep with similarly bad trim like yours

One of my Cayman customers says that BW has lasted on his jeep through 2 major snow storms and still looks better than any other product he's tried on his Jeep.

Absolutely-it works on any color trim. It's just that with faded black trim, you're more likely to say WOW because of the dramatic difference. It will darken any color trim though.
