Prima Banana Gas Test
Prima Banana Gas Test
So several weeks ago, I had a customer come in and purchase a PC and some Prima from me, so I let him use my MINI to learn the PC on, and I completely forgot about finishing this up. So today after all the rains we had this past week, I gave my MINI a wash and noticed this hazy cloudy section..and that's when I remembered how it got there!!
Because I had expected this to be a 10 minute wash, I wasn't about to pull out the PC and finish it. I usually pull out Hydro to make my finish look better, so I did, but realized that it wasn't giving me the desired results--I needed something with more concealing power. I could have tried Amigo, but considering I was working under the sun--the paint was so hot that water turned to steam immediately--I decided to try BG (Prima's Banana Gas). (For those with discerning eyes--yes my trim is shockingly white--that's Prima Swirl left on my trim--I use for doing demos)

I poured a little bit on a foam applicator, wiped it on--in seconds it dried due to the heat, and I wiped it off, and noticed how much better it looked!

But wanting to make sure I wasn't imagining things, I pulled out my blue masking tape to do a side by side comparison.

The BG dried very fast

A few more seconds and it looked like this

So using my favorite Starfish Mitt, I wiped BG off

The difference was substantial. Though it didn't fill in all the swirls, it filled in the hazy finish, made it look darker, and the lightest of swirls disappeared.

Considering how easy this was to apply, I would use BG often for my Jet Black paint.

I ended up doing my whole car with BG and I love the look. I haven't hand waxed my MINI in a looooong time, since I always use my PC and Epic. I'll be doing more tests with BG, so stay tuned, this is only the beginning.

Thanks ML! Yes, I agree. This test allowed me to experience a lot of what makes BG so great. Ease of application--maybe a little too fluid for my taste, since it soaked into my applicator pad and disappeared--until I wiped it on the paint--which is what's most important--not how it feels, lol.
But I liked how it improved the look of the paint so quickly--the reason I've recommended Hydro in the past, is for it's ease of use and returning great benefits. BG goes even further.
I've got a series of other tests in the works.

Actually I tried Hydro first, and it didn't even come close to what BG did. I tried Hydro in several ways, spraying it on, letting it partially dry, then wipe off, or spritizing it on, wiping off, or wiping gently, or wiping firmly, or wiping in straight lines---all in an attempt to mask the defects I was trying to hide, but they were just too much for Hydro.
